I am fully prepared to have my heart broken and hopes for my favorite characters crushed. I’m also oddly really looking forward to actually knowing how this thing ends. Good or bad.
I have always been a Gendry fan and want him to be part of a big reveal and powerful ending. But with his name being granted and Storm’s End is his ... I think they wrapped up his story.
On the other hand, winter (NK) fell at Winterfell and Dany landed (literally) at Kings Landing ... so this storm may end at Storm’s End, the only major castle we haven’t seen on screen.
I’m also rooting for a strong Stansa political move. I’d love that.

I am not sure if it is a recent spoiler but know it was talked about here awhile back. I won't post it totally but somewhat related to the Mad King. I remembered that talk awhile back and think that is exactly what is setup. Makes sense.

I'm so excited I am eager to see the end of the show. It's been a long journey. I think the ending so far is what I've expected albeit rushed along, its headed where I always thought it would.
I'm actually kind of rooting for an unhappy ending. I think what makes the most sense is for Dany to die (by the hand of someone she trusts: Jon or Tyrion) and for no one to sit on the throne, thus setting the course for another war for the throne in 10 years.

I am mostly just looking forward to having it wrapped up, at this point. I don't expect to be particularly or entirely satisfied with the final episode (especially if the leaked spoilers turn out to be right). But then, I suspect the same will ultimately be true of GRRM's books, lol, if he does ever finish them.
I'm tired of waiting, and TBH as good as the show has been at times, the waiting has been a bitch. The final, abbreviated seasons with the long lag in between -- blerg. But at least the show has moved forward to a conclusion, unlike the books!
I have mostly enjoyed this season, as controversial as it has been; there has been quite a bit of satisfaction in it as well. I am looking forward to doing a whole series re-watch, with the entirety of it wrapped up, to see what I've missed or what changes on a re-watch after knowing how it all ends.

Ned Bark of Winterfell will sit on the Iron Throne!
For reals though, I went down the rabbit hole of leaks, so I can’t guess too much. The only thing that I believe and haven’t read is that Jon will kill Dany. I don’t think he will survive though. I’m hoping the kingdoms get to rule themselves and that the powers struggle ends for good. I think Dany was throwing a temper tantrum- if I can’t have it, No one will!
EDIT: I'll rephrase what I said, because I guess I stated something as fact that I feel like the writing is on the wall for and is a given, but I haven't actually read anything that says it for sure is 100% going to happen. Original statement under the spoiler tags:
I accidentally read one sort of fan theory "spoiler" about who kills Dany that seems plausible, but I won't mention it in case it turns out to be based in fact.
Based on a video (from the New Rockstars channel) they also mentioned how Bran is leading the betting pools for getting the throne. That seems unlikely to me, and not inline with how things are going.
This is NOT an official spoiler, but based on some things said in that video, this is what immediately popped into my head about what would happen and so I'm going to spoiler tag is just in case. If you have read the spoilers, don't tell me! I still want to be surprised, but I also want to put this out there in case I'm right. LOL!
I think Sansa is going to end up Queen in a political marriage to King Gendry, after Dany has been killed by Arya (who takes on the role of Queen Slayer like Jaime did before his sister become Queen). Brienne gets to be head of the Kings Guard.
Jon isn't going to want the throne even without Dany being around, and so he will abdicate, naming Sansa his heir. Sansa already has 1/2 the surviving Kingdom behind her, and if Jon throws his support to her, it seems likely those who would support him would follow suit, and the marriage to Gendry, who also has a shaky claim to the throne, will further solidify everything.
Plus, we have Robert saying to Ned about joining their houses ("I have a son, you have a daughter") and Arya telling Gendry any lady would be lucky to have him, and Sansa is currently the only remaining Lady (and her direwolf was Lady).
But I also had a theory before this season started (posted in over on Married Life) that Sansa was going to get disfigured/maimed and lose her beauty based on all the things Robert Baratheon said to the surviving Stark children in S1E1, and there is only just over an hour left for that to happen, so I think that theory is kind of out the window.
I read the spoilers, and I don’t think the rumored ending is that bad. It makes sense, although I don’t like [redacted].
But, before I read them, my theory was Jon and Dany kill each other. My H is still saying that, too. He thinks the shot from the trailer, with Dany looking out over the armies, is right before the northmen go after the unsullied, and we have yet another battle. And then Dany and Jon end up fighting each other. He also in team Sansa for the throne.
edit: sorry. I didn’t think it was a spoiler. And I don’t consider anything after the “but, before I read them,” a spoiler since it just a theory.
OMG people, saying that there is a winner and that someone kills Dany are both spoilers!
I don't know what is going to happen. I guess I need to stay out of this thread because I don't want ANY spoilers. I don't really see Dany making it out alive, but this might be partly because I'm pissed off at her and don't want her to, lol.
Mostly I just thought it was weird waking up today and thinking "this is the last day we'll ever see a new GOT". I've spent and lot of thought and energy on watching this show for the last many years, and I'll be sad for that to be over. Regardless of how it ends up, I still think it was one of the best shows I've watched and I've enjoyed being a part of the community watching it.

Thank you! I started reading this thread and backed out because I don’t want to know what the leaks are and everyone seems to have read them. I’m staying out, I’ll be back after the show. 😢
I'm excited. My friends are hosting a party and going all out, edible dragon eggs, white Walker shots, etc. I really have no expectations, just hoping for good entertainment at this point.
I think Dany dies and Gendry ends up on the throne. Not sure if Jon lives or not

Right!??!!? Saying the only outcome you haven’t read about is X is like an inverse spoiler. It still gives away information. Guess I’m staying out of here until after the show airs tonight since people can’t follow directions.
Sorry, I edited out the part that was seen as a spoiler. But since it it ultimately a game... it seemed like a logical conclusion that...
A lot of people have theorized that nobody wins in the end and there is either a split into multiple kingdoms or that a new form of government is built. Plus the actual throne is potentially destroyed, at least as of episode 5 we do not know.

But nobody is from Bravos 😂 as for the actual throne, no clue there.
I guess I pulled a “sorry, but” there, too. Seriously though, my sincere apologies.
I updated my post since I stated something more as a fact than what I've read. I just think the writing is on the wall about how this is going to go down.

I really want the throne to be done away with and for the realms to go back to 7 different leaders but I’m sticking money on Bran or Bronn. Completely unexpected, unsatisfying, and on point with D & DB at this point. I'm super lowering my expectations on how this all pans out but I'm ready for it to be over, knowing this is it, and see where the prequels go.

Yeah, I find myself feeling rather indifferent to this last episode. Mostly because it feels like they've already chucked the "tell a good story" part out the window. Hey, maybe Drogon ends up on the throne. 🤷♀️

Maybe I read it wrong then lol. I don't recall what was said about Bravos! It's all good!

I'm rewatching this season and just finishing up episode 3. Despite how well done the battle was, I think making the Night King the "big bad" was a mistake in the series as a whole. It's obviously NOT going to play the same way in the books and it really, really distracted from focusing on the awfulness of the petty squabbling over the throne and human politics.

I have to say I will be surprised if any more Starks die at this point. They got hit early and often. There are so many of them left because there were more of them than anyone else to start with, lol.
