We're adopting this baby girl tomorrow from a local rescue. She's a Golden Retriever mix, possibly part Chow, maybe some Lab? She's 3.5 months old.
She is currently called Fern (b/c the foster family liked Charlotte's Web). Would you keep the name Fern or rename her? (the rescue people said she doesn't really know her name yet anyhow). We usually like 2+ syllable names b/c they seem easier to call.
Our kids suggested Sand Crystal or Pepperoni (LOL). So yeah...
We have a yellow Lab named Kodiak. Previous pet names have been Clio, Remy, Stoli, and Zelda.
Inspiration could be something literary - esp. Game of Thrones or Harry Potter. Or something old-school/80s kid nostalgic. The kids were both named honoring Edgar Allen Poe (PDQ: Annabelle and Eliza [Poe's mother]).
I heard somewhere that animal names that end in a vowel sound are easier for dogs to hear/recognize. Molly is my favorite but pepperoni is pretty adorable.
I came here guns blazing to suggest Waffles, like I do for every pet, but Pepperoni is adorable. Please do it.
So, we have a Little Miss Pickle Pants that is usually called Pickle. There's a puppy I kind of really want. I could name him Mr. Wally Waffles and call him Waffles. You may have just given me the push I needed to apply for him...
Quit asking for suggestions the people have spoken. Congratulations on your new dog Pepperoni. Aren't you glad that we are all confirming you have smart kids?
