I just got an email from my exH that my DD is home sick from school today and might have Strep. Hopefully he's able to get her in to see the doctor today.
I got my nails done yesterday and had the brilliant idea to walk to the nail salon (a little over 2mi round trip). Going there was fine, but on the way back, I wore flip flops so as not to ruin my pedicure, and got a huge blister on the bottom of my foot. On the upside, the technician kept commenting how nice my natural nails are, so that was a nice to hear.
We won our Bowling League Championship last night, so that was cool, especially because I generally suck LOL
Yesterday improved fairly quickly with DS1 not throwing up anymore. Hopefully he’s feeling normal today, but DH is still keeping him home. Crossing my fingers that DS2 doesn’t catch it.
I’m running a little behind this morning between leaving the house late and a slow shuttle from parking, but I’m hoping I’ll still have enough time to grab coffee and a breakfast sandwich before I have to board my flight.
The conference moved the session I’m flying in for up from 2p to 12:30p, which means I’m going to be close to an hour late. My flight lands at 12:10 and the resort is half an hour from the airport. I’m trying not to feel anxious about it because there’s really nothing I could have done about it anyway.
I’m really hoping the plane has functional WiFi this morning. I have a lot of work I need to do and it will be easier to do that if I have WiFi access. Though I did transfer the folder I need to work out of to my desktop just in case.
I totally forgot my boss isn't in this week. Not that I don't like him, but it's more relaxed with him out.
Pretty productive weekend, everything that needed to be done got done, did a few extra things, and didn't feel like I was still trying to finish three more things at 9pm Sunday. This week is pretty easy, but it's just the calm before the storm of the next two.
I'm in Scotland and I am anxiously waiting for a chance to watch GOT since they air it Monday nights. The worst part is that I cant go on any type of social media. I was on pinterest and saw a fucking spoiler.its quite annoying.
What's not annoying is the very nice and handsome guy I met up with yesterday. He showed me around a bit, we had some pints, and then he gave me a tour of his apartment

H and I decided to go to bed early last night and it was glorious even with our roomba mistakenly turning on at 10:40 waking us up and scaring the crap out of me.
I got up this morning and took an hour long spin class, and the weather is awesome. Fingers crossed it is a good start to a good day.
My H’s grandfather died yesterday. For reasons I don’t understand and aren’t my business, we’re not having a funeral until next Saturday, so 12 days later. I’ve never heard of waiting so long.
I am SO tired today. This was an incredibly busy weekend - Friday night we met up with friends at a brewery, Saturday we were at the Preakness horse races for like 13 hours, and then yesterday we went and toured a nuclear ship (which rarely offers tours, so we had to go yesterday if we wanted to go at all). I'm still feeling dehydrated from drinking all day on Saturday and I definitely didn't get enough sleep this weekend. It was a fun weekend, though.
The continued incompetency of one of the part-time staff had me in the office at 4:30 this morning to send files to my boss who is at an event in China. I am tired and grouchy so hoping it's a quiet day in the office.
I covered all of us with sunscreen yesterday, but still ended up with some red around my neck. So now I have an even more awkward tan line.
Today is my mom's birthday, but also 1 month since my sister passed. I know she's having a hard time, but we did video chat last night. Also they're headed to the beach Thursday and we'll join up after soccer Saturday so that will be nice to be away from everything. I think I'll make a chocolate swirl cheesecake to take this weekend.
ETA: wambam, when DH's grandfather died they waited a week due to family travel. I didn't get it, but again, not my business.

The weekend went by too fast, as is usual. My niece graduated on Saturday mid-morning and then there was a party for her in the afternoon, so that took pretty much the whole day. Which was good...she is an amazing gal and I love the crap out of her and am so proud of her.
My dad has been in town for the graduation, but leaves today.
Yesterday afternoon, I took my dad and my other niece (16) shopping with me and while we were out, her boyfriend broke up with her over text. What an a-hole!
I’m Getting an iron infusion tomorrow! No really I am excited! I should start to feel better soon after. I’m having terrible insomnia, exhaustion, foot cramps and I’m having trouble working out. I just wan to feel better.
The only down side is that I have to make sub plans this afternoon, which I absolutely hate doing.
My weekend was busy and mostly fun. Saturday was errands in the AM. In the afternoon & evening I was on kid duty so H could attend a whiskey tasting event with friends. Sunday was church in the AM and then I hosted a paint n sip at my TH complex cabana. Oh and we bought more new appliances. They won't be delivered until June 4th. My dishwasher is broken. Here's to hand washing everything for 2.5 weeks. Ugh.

I keep thinking that I’m finally back to “myself” at work after maternity leave, and then Sunday rolls around and I cry because I have to leave DS all over again. lol
Holy cow we were on the go ALL.weekend.long. It's actually kind of nice to come in to work today and have some quiet time, lol. DD played in a soccer tournament so we had 2 games Saturday, 2 games yesterday, and I had to take DS to a b-day party at 9:45 a.m. Saturday (good times). The rest of the weekend we sat outside sweltering, watching the games in the 90 degree weather. Her team came in 2nd.
We survived the craziness but I could not do this every weekend. I do not function well on zero downtime, ugh!

Both of my parent's funerals were like that. My mom's wasn't as delayed as my dad's, but it definitely wasn't right away.
Both of them were cremated and the burial was on the day of the service. I know that contributed to the delay for my dad, but I think there were some problems scheduling the church for his service too.
I’m turning 40 in August. The last few years we have gone away on my birthday to the beach and once to Louisville, KY.
I can’t figure out where to go this year. I had thought Rhode Island because I’ve never been and like seafood and hot dogs which seem to be in abundance there but I’m having a hard time figuring out to where to stay and how close things are from each other. The hotels also seem oddly pricey.
Other ideas are NYC (but we were just there last week) or back to the beach (we did that 2 yrs in a row though although I do enjoy it).
I’d really prefer to drive somewhere vs fly if possible. I feel like I’ve exhausted the 4-5 hr radius around Baltimore though.
Anyway, I need to pick something so my husband will stop bothering me about it. It’s silly but it’s really stressing me out!
I have no idea who is delivering some of my Amazon deliveries, but whoever it is doesn't trigger the motion detector on our Ring doorbell. Ghosts? Ninjas? lol
It has happened a few times recently, and always on days when the motion detector has worked for other people. It is so weird, especially since DH and I triggered it from out by the street the other day, and it isn't actually set up for that distance.
Ugh the weather is rainy and cold here today. So over it! We canceled our weekend trip to the mountains since its going to be like that there this weekend but nicer at home so we might as well stay home.
I have a guy coming today to stretch our carpet in several places upstairs. Hopefully its not too $$$.
DH was cooking on Saturday night and accidentally dropped and shattered an entire bottle of Liquid Smoke on the counter, floor, and kitchen rug. Two issues with this - we have white marble counters and Liquid Smoke is vinegar based. Therefore a HUGE etched splattered spot on the counter. Secondly we cannot get the smell out of the kitchen. It smells like a barbecue in there. I ordered some marble stain/etch removal stuff that I’m hoping is a miracle worker.
We head to Florida Thursday morning for a long weekend and I can’t wait!

My student admin of 2 years graduated yesterday. We hired a new one and he came in for an hour last week for some orientation, he showed up wearing a Coors shirt. I thought that was bad, but he emailed Saturday that he was flying to Jamaica for a week and wouldn't be to work until May 28th. WTF. Still talking to my team to decide if he has a job to come back to.

What about going somewhere in Vermont? Possibly staying on one of the lakes? One of my good friends is from VT & from her pictures it looks absolutely gorgeous there, her parents still have a house on the lake. I really want to go sometime! August would be a nice time of the year too.

I got a massage yesterday and he basically worked on my bad arm for the entire hour. It feels great today but I am completely bruised. I need to wear long sleeves, it's so bad.
I just signed up my kids for their next round of swim lessons and myself for a cake decorating class. My New Years resolution was to do more fun stuff. That included doing more of my hobbies and taking classes that sounded interesting.

Please let this follow up answer be no. Omg. Kid needs to learn something from this.
Today is the last day of preschool and the only plan I have for the kids for a month is going to MILs 2hrs twice a week until day camps start. So I see a lot of screen time i their future 🤷🏻♀️ maybe I’ll take them to target to pick out an outside toy each ....

Set up the sprinkler in the backyard, toss popsicles at them, park yourself in the shade. Basically every afternoon for me!

That might be fun! And cooler. I’ve never been that far north!
My sister’s dog started doggy daycare last week and I can’t stop watching the webcams. I am not even a dog person but I kinda want to quit my job and work here with all these fluffers. I’m sure it’s boring as hell standing around all day but it has to be better than sitting at a desk dealing with dumbasses all day.
Back at work after a 4-day weekend. I'm not feeling it. At all. We spent Thurs - Sun at the PGA tournament at Bethpage. The weather was amazing, I got a little bit of a tan (didn't burn!), and we saw all of our favorites over the course of the weekend. So much walking up and down hills; I logged 4-5 miles each day on my FitBit.
When we got home last night I noticed my kitty's eye looked sore and was tearing. My H is working from home today and said it's not looking any better, so we're taking her to the vet tonight. Poor baby... I hope she's OK and is something that can easily be treated.
