My NIPT results came back much sooner that I expected, I only took the blood test last Wednesday. Negative on increased risk for each of the three main trisomies they test for, and it's a girl. A major benefit to having this baby be due only two weeks after my first was is that the wardrobe will be perfectly seasonally appropriate, lol. I'll be 12 weeks on Wednesday so the countdown to the second trimester is on.

Congratulations!!
I love having two daughters but sometimes when I'm going through all the hand-me-downs I think "Man, all this stuff would have been out of my house and not left for me to spend time organizing if DD2 were a boy" lol. But at least the seasons will line up! DD1 was born in October and DD2 was born in June and they actually lined up quite well a few times and then DD2 went on some wonky growth spurts so fingers crossed for very consistent growth spurts too!
Tell me I can survive dd being three. She turns three next month, but I think she's already in the three-nager stage. OMG.
You can do it! BB has phases but if we ride those out there are always great times on the other side of them. And it helps for me (not her, hah) to take time outs as well. I actually find it a little easier now that I can explain things to her to talk to her at her level (both literally and figuratively).
Two daughters are the best! But don’t count on sharing clothes forever! Now that my littlest is 3 she doesn’t really care for 90% of her big Sis’ old wardrobe. And this really started at age two!

Congratulations, elleblue! Having two girls is so much fun.
I did exactly two fun things this weekend -- take the girls strawberry picking (which they LOVED) and watch GoT. The rest was working, blech.
It has been a little more than a week and two treatments, and I am still finding a few lice and eggs in my kids' hair. ARGH. This is the first time I've dealt with lice with them (I had it once, when I was in junior high) and while I'm grateful that we got to grades 3 and 5 without incident, it is so frustrating to keep combing and combing and picking these things out with my fingers because the nit combs are only so-so at getting eggs and very small lice, and despite how much time we've put into removal and washing of bedding, stuffies, etc., we're still finding the little bastards. And the girls and I all have such long hair, that makes it harder.
Adding to it is that I worry that DH just isn't as good/thorough at it as I am (I've been checking the girls' heads after he is done combing with the nit comb, and I inevitably find things that he missed), but he is the only one who can go through my hair. I mean, I can and do comb through my own hair, although most of the time he helps me; but I can't go over my own scalp by hand to get a more thorough removal.
If this keeps up, I swear to god I am hiring a lice fairy. I hate this so freaking much.

Yes! By about age 2 my younger one had a distinct style that differed from her sister. Also, they have very different body types and that got in the way of sharing as well. They can’t even share jeans because their body types are so different.

I'll just add that my DD loves wearing her older brother's hand-me-downs (at 2.5, she's wearing his 18 month stuff, so you never know!)

Congratulations on another baby girl! So glad all tests were negative and hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well.
My oldest were only 5-days shy of two years apart, so having the same seasonal clothes - especially outerwear for winter, was so helpful.

This exactly.lol
Our youngest loved dresses and had a very quirky style, and the older one preferred gender neutral. One loved pink and purple and the other loved blues and greens. At least it was easy to tell their stuff apart. ;p
They were exactly the same height practically from the start (not quite, but the oldest was so tiny that it seemed like it..their hands were pretty much the same size in the beginning), and maybe in middle school the younger one became the taller one. They are almost 2 1/2 years apart, and I think only had a handful of hand me downs in the beginning, like sleeping gowns, not even clothing, and as adults, the younger one has given the older one clothes that have shrunk in the wash and don't fit her. lol
I have really enjoyed having daughters, both when they were growing up and now, as adults. Now is easier, but it was so much fun to raise them and rewarding to see them become the women that they have become.

I posted recently about DD showing some signs of puberty. We saw the pediatrician today, and everything is fine. Some kids jsut develop hair earlier. They'll keep an eye on it, but we don't need to do bloodwork or anything.
But, the weird bumps on her legs that I thought were just irritation are actually molluscum. They'll go away on their own, but she gave us a prescription for an antibiotic ointment for some that may get infected.

My kid is a mess, but I love her.
They will.....but it can take a year or longer. Both of my kids had it.

I think my DS has this right now. I noticed the first bump a long time ago (like maybe a year ago?) and thought it was just a skin tag. A few weeks ago I noticed they're spreading so I just started using this lemon balm stuff www.amazon.com/dp/B01N42GA4X/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zZ6BCbQZH08RXLeeham Rimes recommended in another thread. I really hope it works. I don't really feel like dragging him to the pedi just for this so I guess if it's still there in November we'll ask about it then. Haha. I guess I'm only about 70% sure it is actually molluscum but it sounds like it.

She did say that, so DD is prepared. We also need to not share towels and such, and the kid needs to stop running around naked and jumping on me, because it's very contagious.
It's picture day at daycare. DD2 (2) has cried and/or scowled in every daycare picture, plus every time we've tried to get professional photos done. I asked her to smile in her pictures today and she kept saying no. So I told her if she smiles in her pictures I'll give her a piece of candy tonight, and she said okay. This is probably not great parenting lol. But I'll find out tonight if it worked!

If you use the balm many (like 3) times a day for the oldest ones, it should go away. It has worked wonders for both Xavier and Wesley. It never went away for them. X had it on his knee for over a year.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham

If that doesn't work, and it is molluscum, I eventually got impatient with DD's (after about 11 months!) and treated her 2x/day with a mix of olive oil and tea tree oil. I promise I'm not some essential oils nut (this is literally the first health/body thing I've ever used them for) but it really worked for DD.
This feels like a good place to share how annoyed I am that several people have been horrified and told me that NO NO NO DD CANNOT wear DS's hand me downs? What? I mean, I prob won't put her in bow ties or the shirt that says "handsome", but why can't she wear some of his comfy clothes? Girls can like dinosaurs and the color blue, too!

DS was a whiny mess this morning. He's been complaining that he doesn't want to go to school, school is boring, he wants to stay home. He's gotten into a bad habit of just whining/fake crying when things aren't going his way so we're trying to redirect and make him use his words instead. Sometimes I love 4, but right now I hate 4.
DD went to school with accessories today - bracelets, a (plastic) ring, and did her hair in a side braid. It makes me smile when she does that, I love when she expresses herself through fashion.

My son wears his big sisters handmedown jeans and jeggings and sweat pants and her PJ's. And some of her tshirts. if it was the other way around...well, I'd be screwed because she LOVES dresses, but her play clothes would for sure all be handmedowns from her brother.

What? That's crazy. I would have dressed a boy baby in some of A's hand me downs as well, though there would have been fewer things. Onesies and soft pants are pretty gender neutral, unless we're talking florals or something like that. People are so weird.

Oh when he was a baby he was for sure in some floral onesies. Lol

We went through similar with DD (almost 3) a few weeks ago. I asked her that morning if she was going to smile for her pictures. She said no, she was going to pout. Same as you, I told her if she smiled she’d get a piece of candy that night and she agreed. Hopefully it works better for you than it did for us!!

yeah that’s weird to care about that. My 3 year old son loves his sisters hand me downs, including her pink Minnie Mouse bike. I mean someday he might not, but for now it’s worked fine handing things down.

Good! I'm glad it wasn't pernicious puberty. We have to trim DD's armpits every few days with a little electric trimmer and that seems to do the job without upsetting her too much. She's used to it now.
We have molloscum too, and it's taken FOREVER to go away. Finally DDs have gone, but DS is still fighting a couple.
