I would say IPAs, but no, I actually do NOT want to like them. I just want breweries to stop producing eight billion varieties of IPA and two uninteresting non-IPA beers.
That show on the history channel where they make the knives because there’s 9000 episodes and my H is always watching it and I’d like to not be annoyed so much by it
Cheap, easy, healthy, but I have tried my whole life to like them and just can't get past the texture. I can eat lentils and chickpeas, and I actually enjoy those, so we eat them a fair amount. Sometimes I can handle a few beans in a soup, like a vegetable soup situation, but not if there's too many.
@@@@ When I was in my first tri with DS1 and having food aversions, there was this one day that NOTHING sounded good but I knew I needed to eat or I would get more nauseous. Fries? nah. Cupcake? vom. The only thing that sounded at all edible was a can of Frito Lay bean dip with a bag of Fritos. It was so amazing I was scraping the can. I got all excited, like, maybe my tastes are going to permanently change and I'm going to be able to eat beans now! So I tried a bunch of stuff over the next few weeks. All those things that everyone has always said, oh you don't like beans? you should try this! Nope, nada. It was literally just that one day. I was so disappointed, lol. I even tried again when I was pregnant with DS2. Still no.
Blue cheese Wine - when people wax poetic about wine, I don't get it at all. And I guess if I'm going to take in the calories, it's going to be in the form of something really worth it. Wine is not it. Coffee - love coffee ice cream but coffee on it's own is meh.
Swimming in the lake - I love to swim. I can even sort of surf so being in large bodies of water isn't freaky to me. But somehow swimming in Lake Michigan is friggin terrifying to me. I have to psych myself up every time. This makes doing triathlons really hard. So I guess I add triathlons - it's totally my speed, I SHOULD like them, but I can't get past the open water swim.
Getting up early -- I'm just not a morning person, and I never will be, whereas the rest of my family is perfectly happy to pop up between 6:30-7 a.m. even on the weekends.
The metric system. It's so neat and tidy, but I can still never remember the details of it.
Any hard core outdoor things. I really enjoy camping, canoeing on calm lakes, day hikes, and 15-mile leisurely bike rides on flat trails. But it seems like, at my age (early 40s) everyone I know who likes doing this type of stuff likes to go ALL OUT or not do it at all. A weekend of camping at a walk-in site at a state park is boring - let's go wilderness backpacking for a week! If you like canoeing, let's go sea kayaking on Lake Superior! If you like cycling, you should sign up for this 100-mile race with huge elevation change! I want to like those things, but I have bad knees, a bad back, am not in great shape, and am least competitive/athletic person in the world - I physically can't do most of those things. Even if I could, I'd be a nervous wreck and not enjoy it most of the time. I guess I just need to find some new friends who are low-key outdoorsy.
i blame social media! I watch these amazing outdoor adventure videos and think “that’s so cool” and it makes me kind of want to do it, but then reality sets in that it’s just not “Me”. But i feel like people feel they need to “keep up with the Joneses” and now regular camping isn’t enough. It has to be bigger and bolder!!!!

Fall. Everyone goes nuts over fall, but I hate it because it means that our 5 minutes of glorious summer is over, and we're about to have another 8 months of winter. It gets me so down.

Beer Green beans Mushrooms
That's it for what I wished I like that I don't. There are plenty of other things I don't like, such as olives and sushi, but I don't actually care that I don't like them.
Try this recipe. I was a very late convert (35ish?) after dreading it for years. A friend served this and I though Eh. it's fine (which was a vast improvement over my standard response). Made it myself a few months later to force the issue. Now love it and even crave it sometimes.
Personally, I don't add the red pepper and only cook it five minutes after the garlic.
Yoga- I've tried so many classes and instructors over the years and I just hate it. It's boring and too damn long. I keep trying because I have a lot of anxiety and regular body aches so yoga is supposed to be great for me. It's not.

Summer. It’s too hot to be outside for longer than 15 minutes but people insist it’s great out. I live 10 minutes from the beach but hate the beach and fear the ocean. And everyone sees it as a time to party and let loose and I hate being out of routine at all ever.
Going out to bars. I always think it will be fun to get a drink and catch up with people but then it’s too loud to talk, so you aren’t really catching up.

I'm pathetic. I clicked the link and there's a picture of the dish and I can't even. Like, unless it's cooked to much and smothered in cheese sauce, I just can't do it.
Contacting people first to make plans. I'm always worried about bothering them or getting rejected. Or I'm just so zoned out with my own stuff that I don't think of it and then I feel really rude.

I think the best part of having a little kid now is finding the joy in the simple things. We took her on a couple of hikes last year, and I hope to do more this year. But they aren’t going to be crazy hard or long hikes because either she’ll be walking on her toddler legs or I’ll be wearing her on my back. We spend time outside by going to the zoo for two hours or letting her walk on a trail in a park. In doing so, we get fresh air and exercise. We spend time together as a family. And we have fun because we watch her discover things and smile and laugh.
That and the centering I feel from doing yoga regularly has really helped me enjoy these small things. Like I see the appeal in the personal accomplishment one feels from doing a big race or something, and part of me does want to like that stuff. But it’s also OK to be fine with a walk in the park that makes you smile.
