So excited and nervous! I'm still not quite done with Season 2 since I am watching it with my sister, but I need the spoilers. It's too hard for me to watch without some idea of what is going to happen. I have to prepare myself.

I take back what I said about being glad she's with Lawrence. Although, I suppose she's not being raped yet, so that's a plus.
I loved, loved Emily calling her wife. Ugh. I was really hoping to see a reunion in episode 3, but oh well. I'm sure there will be more of that and I'm looking forward to it.
I'm thrilled with this season so far. I'm fascinated by Serena's revolt. I wonder if she regrets tossing the business card of the guy she met in Canada into the fire.
I also am just so incredibly impressed with June's resilience and willingness to extend grace to Serena when it comes to Nichole.
ONG, I was sobbing at the end of Ep. 2 when Emily called her wife.
Ohhh my goodness I was crying so hard I was gonna pull the blanket over my head to hide from H but then I glanced over & HE had a tear coming down his cheek! ❤️
stephogirl YES!!! We totally caught binders full of women & knew that it had to be a pointed reference!
I am really curious if we will see whats going on in Chicago since Nick is being sent there. I'm also wondering if we will finally get Aunt Lydia's back story.
I'm enjoying it - it's less all-consuming than season 1 or 2, but I like it.
Ditto on the refugee statement for Emily and Nichole, I definitely shed some tears on that one. I hope too that we see more Emily, Luke, Moira stuff. I wonder how Luke's reaction to Nichole would be different if he knew it was Nicks, rather than the Commanders.
Bradley Whitford is acting the hell out of that role. I hate him but I'm so intrigued by him.
I spent the first 2.75 episodes trying to confirm that Commander Lawrence second Martha was the Martha from Jezebels in Season 2, so I'm glad that Nick (and IMDB) finally confirmed it for me at the end of Episode 3. I actually really liked her in Season 2 - for a bit part she really caught my eye as a woman who was exceptional before (as a James Beard nominee) and now reduced to this. I also loved the back story that Nick had other 'relationships'. I'm not sure I buy the coincidence that she'd end up in the Lawrence household, but I'm glad she's in this season.
Does anyone else watch with captions on? I'm trying to track when the captions refer to June and when they refer to Offred or Ofjoseph.
I was shocked that Aunt Lydia survived, but I did like to see her back on the screen.
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”
just it seemed like Lawrence has first pick of Marthas. So I assume he chose one that had a history as a chef. Also I assume he was behind how June ended up at his house, although I don't really know why he wants her now that he's acting so weird.

He definitely chose her (June). He said something about regretting his decision to bring her into his house. Based on how he was reviewing the files for all the women they're sending to the colonies, I also expect he gets his pick of Marthas. He was clearly choosing by general attributes, so it absolutely makes sense that he would have chosen the James Beard winner to come cook for him.
I am interested to see how his character develops. He is certainly bizarre. It truly never would have occurred to me that he was so high up based on what we saw last season. I just figured he was the weird eccentric guy that people leave alone. I didn't realize they leave him alone because he's super powerful.

Interesting. I was left with the impression that he was pretty critical to formulating the structure of Gilead. Didn't they credit him with setting up the economic system or something?
I'm also interested to see where his character goes. I think I like that he's kind of a wild card, from a story perspective. I think what Fred said about him - that he's a survivor and uniquely suited to that skillset - is important. He's going to play both sides to protect himself and maybe and they've already called out his issues with liars, which is interesting. But I could also see him wanting to gradually pick away at the hell he helped create.
I figured he wanted to keep her close because she threatened to rattle on his involvement in the escape and get him on the wall. Not that he’s scared of her. I think he’s easily bored and intrigued by her. I think he views her as a play thing.
He views her as street smart and therefore inferior, while he admired Emily’s book smart. Funny, as June is the copy editor/book person.
I really wanted June to ask Ms. Mackenzie how much she’d love Hannah when she’s forced to become a handmaid or Martha.
Finally- I will turn this show off forever if I ever have to watch Josh Lyman rape Zoe Bartlett. Nope nope nope.

I guess I figured that was true in that he set up the system, but then I figured maybe he sort of went off the rails and was kind of left to keep to himself? I don’t really know why I thought that. He just really doesn’t fit the religious mold, you know?
I’m also very interested to find out what the deal is with his wife. They’re such an odd couple. It seems like he cares for her. She seems like she really didn’t want any of this to happen. It’s all so odd and mysterious.
I was fascinated that she went out there and starting planting herbs over the body of that Martha because all I could think when June was digging was that surely someone would notice this fresh patch of dirt. Planting stuff in it makes it seem intentional, which was obviously what she intended.
Also, I probably shouldn’t have, but I definitely laughed when he wondered aloud what the voltage is in those cattle prods the Aunts use. It was just such a bizarre comment.
