You guys helped me with the decision to move my DS into his room at 6 weeks and it was a great decision. He is 3 months now and either sleeps through the night or wakes only once. He was such a loud newborn and I was definitely responding to his every noise which just made me so tired and miserable. Much better now.
I always nurse my kids down. That’s just what works for us. With both, I have done eat, play, eat, sleep basically.
Question: any tips for combating postpartum hair loss?
I'm going to tag along with this. My solution last time was a major cut (and I loved and maintained that cut for over a year) but now I want to keep my hair long. And the hair fallout has started, wah.

Ugh, same. I have a cut on Saturday but not wanting anything drastic if I can help it. I love my hair long but the clumps that are coming out right now are crazy.

Yep, I chopped off all my hair two weeks ago. I felt a lot of regret initially, but I’m finally starting to get used to it.

I went from long hair to a pixie cut at a couple months pp with my first. It’s been 3 years and another baby and I’ve kept it. Occasionally I miss the options long hair gave me, but mostly I like how easy it is for me, and how hard it is for littles to pull.
melmaria, neither of my kids do that routine. Both want to nurse every 2 hours. So it ends up being eat play eat sleep. I'm only just now starting to worry about the nurse to sleep association at 3 months but I'll wait to take steps to correct it when E2 is about 4 months and is neurologically mature enough to soothe himself to sleep.
I don't really understand putting your baby to sleep with an empty, or nearly so, stomach. I feel like that's just asking for short naps.
I did eat - play - eat - sleep too. I tried to kinda jostle awake and insert a paci, then place in the crib, which I think helped.
I normally do the same, but it has been hot and humid even with the AC, so he’s in a onesie and socks all day. I don’t want to buy any more socks unless I know they stay on! Those footie pants are adorable!

I would love to do a pixie, but my face is too fat. I’m thinking a bob just past my shoulders.

Fwiw it’s hot here too and we haven’t done socks with any of our boys 🤷🏻♀️

I was another one who did this schedule. Initially it was a great tool to get her to sleep, then later when we did a bit of sleep training it greatly helped my anxiety to know that if she was fussing it wasn’t due to being hungry. She’s always been a great sleeper, so i never worried about the nursing sleep crutch.

woowoo - DD has always gotten pissed if we give her less than 4.5 oz in a bottle. As long as you're doing paced feeding, your baby will let you know when they're full. DD also eats a ton of food right before bed. Like, a full bottle followed by at least 15-20 minutes of nursing. And sometimes she wants to nurse before her evening bottle, too. Last night it was a full bottle followed by 20 minutes on each side before she was full. She's a bit older than your kiddo (5.5 months), but we've been following that feeding routine for a few months now.
And FYI this little man is a totally unproductive eater but I’m still nursing him to sleep and occasional in the middle of the night for comfort and hope I can pump and still do a night feed for a very long time!!
Is anyone in super warm weather right now? What temp would it need to be outside for you to be comfortable taking your newborn for a walk in the stroller? We don’t have a bassinet attachment though, so he would be in his car seat.
woowoo, we have highs in the upper 90s, low 100s right now, so I'm in the same boat. And E1 was born in July so same back then. I try to do walks and errands in the morning, preferably before like 11.
When I lost my hair it was all around my temples. Made it so hard to pull my hair back because I looked like I was balding... which I guess I was. It’s STILL super short there. I didn’t even realize how many huge patches I lost until I started growing back in the wrong direction. Not looking forward to this again.

Ugh I had such big plans with my first to go for a million walks. It was so damn hot. We got out in the morning when we could and I just skipped it most of the time. Waaah.

Dumb FTM question- is it possible to go through the 4 month sleep regression 3 weeks early? DS was sleeping from about 7:30-8ish to 4, and now he’s decided to get up at 2am the last couple of nights. He’s too wide awake for me to just pat his butt and go back to sleep, so I feed him. Tonight (Friday) he ate at 6 ounces at 3:30 in the afternoon, then 2.5 ounces at 5:30, took about a cat nap, played a bit, and at 7 took 4 more ounces and was down by 7:30. What is going on? We were finally starting to get a schedule figured out too!
How gassy are your babies? I'm having a hard time distinguishing between normal newborn gas and a lip tie induced issue.
He is starting to spit more often, sometimes an hour after eating. The burps make him seem like he's crawling out of skin as we struggle to get them out. He will wake up from a dead sleep screaming because of gas and get out a dozen plus farts. Probably half of his overnight wake ups seem to be caused by gas, not hunger.

hamster have you tried mylicon drops? They saved my older son who was incredibly gassy. I’m sure you know but bicycle his legs and put a little pressure on his tummy by placing it against yours. It’s so hard to watch them in pain. I can’t remember, but are you dairy free? That could be causing the gas.
lovelyshoes gas drops and gripe water are in heavy rotation, especially during the night.
I still have butter and the chocolate in my lactation cookies, but I've cut out all other dairy. I've had it a couple of times (like cheese on a sandwich) and no difference.
