Why won’t these babies sleep? We were up every hour either hungry or fussy. He must be having a growth spurt - he ate SO MUCH yesterday. Thank goodness my mom is here to help today.
When did your pp bleeding start to subside? DD is 6d and I feel like it’s really picked up significantly today. /sob She’s also been nursing a little better today, so maybe that’s why?

I have little to no memory of this with DS.
Mine is so random. Bleeding would be heavier if she was nursing more OR if I was more active than normal- even small things like making the bed. I’m 4 weeks PP today and still bleeding, but it’s been at a level of just needing a liner for at least a week. I probably stopped wearing giant pads at about 2.5 weeks pp?

Not what I wanted to hear but I’d rather have realistic expectations. Ugh.

If bleeding is increasing &/or gets brighter it is a sign you are overdoing it.

I felt pretty worthless today, but I am feeling slightly better physically, so that’s definitely possible without me realizing.

Not what you want to hear but I bled longer with DD2 which is apparently common. I honesty didn’t think it would end before my 6 week post partum appointment but it did - barely.

Nooooooooooo heavily??? Or just spotting? I feel like I barely did at all with DS, but I also had a csection with him and it was a long time ago. This is like a whole new foreign experience.

No I don’t recall it being very heavy, just there and annoying. I felt a million times better after having DD2 than I did DD1 but both were vaginal births for me.

I think I can live with that. I’m looking forward to hopefully not feeling like I’m uncontrollably pissing myself randomly and fear of bleeding through every article of clothing constantly. One day?!?

Don’t feel bad! Your body is not just healing from birth but has lost an organ the size of a paper plate! I was so surprised (after all 3 births)at how what I thought was the slightest thing was too much.
I just spilled like 3 oz of milk. Wahhhh. The bottle fell off while pumping.
Noooo I’m so sorry. My haaka fell off a few weeks ago and I was so sad.
I’ll always remember right after I went back to work, I came home and forgot to put the milk I had pumped in the fridge. I shot up in bed at 5am having somehow remembered at that moment. I was inconsolable. Probably could have calmed down a bit. Ha

Omg I would have lost it if I had to chuck everything I pumped in a day.
Someone on one of my FB groups had to throw out 400 oz after her freezer broke. I would have lost my mind.
I'm pretty sure Z has her first cold She had a great first stretch of sleep (8pm-2:45am) but had a hard time staying asleep after because she'd snort herself awake...I could only get her to stay asleep in the bassinet if I held her long enough that she'd be so deep asleep that she'd sleep with her mouth open. She's been struggling with her bottles at the sitter's the last couple days so now it all makes sense.

I'm sorry babies getting colds is so sad because there's not a whole lot you can do to help. I'm worried DD is getting sick right now too, and I'm sure it will be the first of many now that winter is coming
Has anyone thought about Christmas? What are you getting your infants, especially if it's your first (since theoretically baby doesn't have all the stuff from an older sibling)

pandorica, we're doing new jammies, board books, bath toys, some kind of light up musical toy, an Elmo stuffed animal (he's obsessed with a book we already have that has Elmo in it and watches Sesame Street fully focused on the 'Mo), and some kind of shaker ball toy.
We do have an older DD, so we'll put baby food jars in his stocking or something of that nature just to keep up the Santa illusion, but generally, baby doesn't get a whole lot. DD's first Christmas was similar. She got clothes, books, musical toys, bath toys, a stuffed animal, etc.

DD will be less than 3 months old so I’ll probably get a little toy and a few books. DS (2.5 by that point) won’t notice that she didn’t really get anything.

DS isn't my first, but we're (Santa is?) getting him a book shelf for his room, which we never bought when we did the nursery. Then we're telling all the relatives who ask that he would like books. DD has been reticent to hand hers down, and I'm not up for making it a HTDO. He can have a separate collection.

We'll probably just get her a book and maybe an outfit or two. Maybe I'll get motivated and try to set up her nursery for Christmas. I have some artwork for her room that I've been meaning to get framed and the holiday might give the perfect excuse for that $$$.
osulori, my DD has had a cold for a week and its so sad. She's so stuffy and sleeping like crap. I feel so helpless.
With DS, I literally got him nothing for Christmas (he was about 7 weeks old). DD will be 6 months on Christmas and I'll only get her a couple things for DS' benefit.

osulori, that sounds rough. I hope Z starts feeling better soon.
icedcoffee, Ugh, so frustrating! During the brief spell when I was attempting to BF, I accidentally knocked the Hakaa off and lost 2 oz. It had taken me over an hour to get that 2 oz. I'm still pissed about that and it was four months ago.
