I have a Garmin for my GPS. I bought it in Costco. It’s small and fits nicely on my dashboard. Besides being great for navigation, it posts the speed limit very accurately for any road I am on. DH uses it diligently when on highways when the speed limit drops randomly to avoid speed traps. I do, too. It is also really helpful for random side streets that have non-posted speeds and lots of speed-traps.
I have often adjusted my speed based on my Garmin. It’s great.

Man. I’d be in so much trouble if we had speeding cameras. Even going with the slower traffic, people very rarely drive the limit here. In this instance, i would just set my cruise control in this area where you know they give tickets.
I once got a red light ticket bc H turned right on red and it wasn’t allowed, except the sign was so set back H didn’t see it. Anyway, my license was suspended bc I didn’t pay it. I didn’t pay it bc the third party in charge couldn’t figure out my address bc it’s blocked from most people so they just—never sent it. I had to go thorough a week of bullshit to get them to fix their mistake.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham
Ditto the recommendation to use some kind of GPS or Waze that displays the speed limit. I never realized how many places there were that I had no idea what the actual speed limit was before I had it constantly displayed. It is wrong sometimes....and obviously “but my Garmin said it was 55 here!” isn’t a valid defense for speeding. But it has helped me be much more aware of the posted speed limit.
I just want to say that I totally go over the speed limit on the freeways and some thoroughfares, BUT if I am getting more than one ticket in the same area...time to slow down in that particular area, wouldn't you think?

it feels like it should be faster, so Imma keep doing it! lol
I'm not defending OP, because 3 tickets is a lot, but I sort of get where she is coming from. I live near a major thoroughfare that had the speed limit reduced to 30mph and I am not joking when I say that going 30 feels more unsafe than "speeding" (ie. going 45 or so). I follow the speed limit as best as possible, but at some points, it is ridiculous. There was no taking into account the traffic flow or need to keep up with traffic on certain parts of the roadway when the state just switched the speed limit on the entire several mile long roadway to 30mph. I have actually started avoiding taking this road if possible because of the situation. I don't want to get a ticket, but I also don't want to have an accident because I am crawling along at 30 while probably 75% of other drivers are at the more reasonable speed around 45 or so.
I'm fairly sure I know what road you're talking about. Isn't it because a kid died when hit by a car in that area?
If it is that area, it cuts through a park where people bike and walk, and is on an s-curve.

If it’s the area in buffalo I’m thinking of then yeah they changed it after that. But there were always accidents even prior to that so I’m not shocked.

I don’t drive this road often, but on the occasion that I go to Delaware Park I do, and about 95% of drivers go at least 45, if not up to 55. I get why they lowered it, but it seems there were other options instead. That said, I am one of the 5% who go 30-35 and feel like *I* am the hazard.

Come on, guys. No one is saying they never speed. But your first reaction to getting a THIRD ticket, in the same place, in one year should be slowing down not concealing your plates. lol
Team check your laws. I know in my area there were a lot of lawsuits because of these cameras and they yanked them some time ago. But there were no points assessed because it was too difficult to ascertain who was actually driving, etc. and ending up with a huge bunch of court cases from pissed off drivers fighting the tickets would overburden the court system: I actually got a ticket something like 10 years ago from one of these: I had just had my son and never ended up paying it because it got lost in the shuffle and I had no repercussions and have bought a house and two cars since and no credit ding.
