DH called me when the email dropped so that I could grab his second phone and wait in line, because he was too busy. It took about 30 minutes of waiting in line before I got to register. By then I just wanted to get registered and didn't put much thought into dates and times...I just wanted to get it done. lol
Things like that make me anxious, anyway, but the wait while just staring at a screen was making it worse. At least if you are waiting on the phone you can do other things and just listen for someone to come on the line. Waiting for a screen to change requires closer attention.
I always forget that website is really not very mobile friendly and using DH's phone was weird. I had a hard time reading the page until I used my phone's camera like a magnifying glass. Also, I think I have my phone set to be more sensitive than he has his set because it was really hard to get the 'next' and 'submit' buttons to work.

We will be there at that time in August, but we didn't renew our APs. I talked to my DH about doing it, then we put it off and the price change came so we decided not to but I'm kinda kicking myself now.
Oh well, it'll it's not going anywhere so we'll see it next trip!
wesleycrusher, that's too bad, but you're right, it will be there next time.
I normally wouldn't go to the parks in the middle of August, (unless it was to stop in at Epcot for fish and chips), but getting to go to a preview at any time of year is better than trying to get in right after a new ride/attraction/land has opened.
We will be there on August 19! Coincidentally, we already had a trip planned for the dates of the preview. We'll be celebrating H's birthday and I'm so excited we got in.
I didn't get the email, but H did (even though we bought our APs at the same time). He forwarded me the email when he got it and I logged in under my account to book it. I hear that the slots were all booked within 2 hours.

What time slot? We are in the 1:00-5:00...or whatever it is. .
I would have preferred to go in a later time slot, (instead of the height of heat and sun-lol), but we have a dog who has to have meds and be fed at certain times so I went with that. DH was disappointed that I hadn't reserved the 19th...he hadn't mentioned it, but he was hoping for an excuse to take time off work.
We enjoyed our time there, but it was really, really, really hot, (heat is kind of my kryptonite), and I am still recovering from the flu, so it wiped me out. I did have a refreshing Sour Salacc from Ronto Roasters. It was a little sweeter than I normally like, but was really good and was exactly what I needed.
Smuggler's Run was fun...we were engineers. If I hadn't been so tired we would have gotten back in line and gone again. A woman who was the gunner had come from the single rider line. I think it was her 3rd time....she had been a pilot once and a gunner twice, and she got right back in line to go again. The wait time posted (40 min) was longer than it actually took, I think by about 10 minutes.
If you shop, they only let you buy one of each item per person. I just wanted to get two shopping bags, but DH had walked outside to wait for me since the shop was crowded, and he had to come back inside to buy the second bag. We didn't buy any merchandise, but there was a lot of cool stuff around. We bought a couple of the passholder items.

In hindsight, I wish we'd booked an earlier window. There was no way for cast members to know whether people were staying past their 4 hour window. I thought the system would be similar to the one they used at Disneyland where you got a different colored wristband depending on your time slot. That way, cast members would advise you to leave once your time had run out.
This wasn't the case this weekend. By the time we arrived at 3:00, it was completely packed. The line for SR was 1.5 hours. I suspect many people with earlier time slots simply didn't leave after four hours. The girls in line in front of us for SR told us they'd been there since 10:00 a.m. and had ridden SR seven times so far. Anyway, it was still a neat experience and I'm glad to check it off the list.
I wondered how they were handling that, since there weren't wristbands. The actually let us in a little early on Sunday, and we were puzzled. It wound up not being too crowded on Sunday, so maybe people wre better about self policing and sticking to their times.
