Oh! Also my lungs are weird. Something about them being different "heights." We discovered this a year or so again during some scan we did. I can't remember what it was called.
I can't wink my left eye. I can wink my right eye fine, and obviously I can blink, but I can't just close my left eye, even if I hold my right one open.
Other than that, I do have really large bony growths in my mouth near my tongue - Torus mandibularis. I didn’t realize everyone didn’t have them until my 20s. I also have them in a few other places in my mouth but the ones on the bottom are most noticeable.
Whelp, I'm just a few months shy of turning 40 and just now learning this isn't common. LOL! I've never heard of this condition (and no dentist or orthodontist) has ever mentioned it, but after Googling, I definitely have this.
I have weird veins in my legs, but I can't remember exactly how. Many years ago I had to get an ultrasound for DVT (thankfully no clots) and the ultrasound tech said my veins were either rotated or in a different location than expected. Nothing dangerous, just curious. I also have a propensity to growing ganglions.
I have a sacral dimple, aka a second butt hole basically that doesn’t go all the way through.
Fun fact, I thought everyone had one of these until I had DS and doctors got all freaked out in the hospital because DS has one too and it could be a sign or spina bifida or not being able to use your legs. The doctor came in and made a note about it, that we’d have to go to the children’s hospital for a follow up and ultrasound and left and I turned to H and was like “oh... not everyone has one?” And he looked at me all confused. I then had to chase the doctor out of the room to let her know that I had one too and it was likely genetical. We both have perfect use of our legs.

I have one too! I had a pilonidal cyst grow from it!

Huh. Evidently I have a sacral dimple, too. I just never bothered to question it

I have one as does DD1.
Maybe TMI.
When they told us I was like oh I have that too. H didn’t understand the terminology so after the doctor left he asked me what we were talking about. I explained and he was like oh I always wondered about that (I guess he had noticed it at some point but didn’t want to ask me about it - I had no clue he had ever even seen it).

Lol! I had to show DH mine after because he had no idea what I was talking about.
I am glad to hear it is more common than I thought it was. I just assumed it was a normal part of everyone’s body haha.

When my son was born they thought he had a sacral dimple but it turns out he was just so skinny and a week later it was filled in. I only knew what it was because a friends daughter had a tethered spine and that was their first sign.
I have one leg a full inch longer than the other from adolescent hip surgery. I also have messed up hips that don't have a full range of motion.
I have no wisdom teeth and neither does my sister.

I was born with 7 different heart defects. I had open heart surgery at 5 months to repair one of them. The rest are just... there? Fine to live with? I played ice hockey I high school and have run 10 half marathons with them. 🤷🏼♀️

My pinkie toes are shaped weird. They actually look pretty normal from the top, but on the bottom they curl under the toe next to them and have a kind of sharp edge where they go under the other toe.
I don’t know if it’s weird exactly but I have thalassemia minor, which is a blood condition that is somewhat rare in many parts of the US but common in Italians. In my case I’m just always anemic and I need to have blood standing by for surgery and we needed genetic counseling before having DS. I guess it must look pretty weird on a CBC if you don’t know because when I lived in a city without much of a Mediterranean population doctors would freak out if I forgot to tell them.
ETA: one wild thing I forgot is there is a body of thought that thalassemia protects from malaria. I remember when I first read that thinking all genetic mutations should come with that kind of bonus. Like, sorry, you are going to be run down for life but let me tell you about your immunity to a deadly disease!
I have a genetic immunity/resistance to norovirus, but unfortunately it also makes me more susceptible to getting sick from e.coli. So not much of a bonus. And yes, my answer to the "would you eat this" questions is usually no. Ha.
my H still has one at 38! He had gum surgery last year and it loosened up and we were afraid the tooth fairy might be making a visit, but thankfully it hardened back up again. 😂
I have an accessory nail of the fifth toe on both feet, and I hate it.
I had to google “accessory nail” and realized that I have them as well! Huh. The more you know.
My boobs, as of two weeks ago, are made from my belly fat, which I am finding to be very weird.
Me too! Only on one foot and it’s tiny so I can never clip it and it hurts like....well, trying to rip off a toe nail, I suppose. Who knew that was a thing?
I also have a weak tendon on my rib cage that i can injure rolling over or coughing - it’s like a stabbing pain that freaked me the fuck out until I finally googled.
ME TOO! I didn’t know what this is called or that this is a thing other people have until just now. I love you.
Hah!
They’re the worst thing, especially if they get stuck on socks.
Okay. You just confirmed this was what I have. It hurts so much! I just thought it was a broken nail because my nails are so brittle. They always split.

Mine do this too.
I also realized like a month ago my index and middle toe are slightly webbed.
I noticed the other day DS has the same thing. Lol
I went to a chiropractor to see if he could help my numb butt a year after my first son was born. He took xrays and said nonchalantly—oh, look you have spina bifida. What? Evidently, a large percentage of humans have malformed vertebrae routinely and it wasn’t a big deal. When combined with my bicornate uterus, I evidently had midline issues as an embryo.

I do ultrasounds at a children's hospital and most all doctors order an ultrasound if a child has a sacral dimple (they are almost always normal) because they *could* have a tethered spinal cord. We do tons of these spine ultrasounds, so yes quite common!
I have bad scoliosis. My curve got up to 48° in my adolescence. My Dr’s wanted to do fusion surgery but my curve is up so high and too close to my heart and lungs, so they decided against it. Instead I got stuck in a back brace for 20 hours a day for an entire year when I turned 13. Thankfully it helped enough to avoid further intervention.
But yeah my spine is shaped like a C and my curve goes over towards my right shoulder, so I have a very pronounced rib hump when I lean forward.
The roof of my mouth is not flat, but instead bows in toward my tongue like an inverted dome. I had no idea this wasn't normal until my dentist mentioned it a few years ago. He said he's only seen a few other mouths like it (but also that it's nothing to be concerned about).

I have thalassemia minor too and just found out that I shouldn’t take iron pills. I’m always so so so tired.
My left foot is perfect- like could be in a magazine. My right foot is so weird. The toes are all crooked, the second toe is super long, and the pinky toe hide under the ring toe. The roof of my mouth has a massive ridge at the midline. Most people (that I’ve asked) have a little ridge. Mine is super deep. Also, I have central heterochromia, and even the dmv people have had trouble pinning down an eye colour for me.
I have a 5th tiny wisdom tooth found hanging out in a dental x-ray. It's tiny and they said not concerning. I thought it was weird and found out my Dad had an extra one too.
My middle thumb joint bends over 90° backwards on one hand. The other thumb joint gets locked in a straight position if I straighten it and hold it in that position more than a few seconds. Been like that since I was a kid. Snapping it forward again with my other hand is a... weird feeling. I'm also missing my 2 bottom adult bicuspid teeth. They just never formed.
