2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Started consistently feeling movement in the last week and actually felt movement from the outside a couple of times too!
3. Questions for the group?
4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery? Since it’s #3, I’ve had more prep for moving the second to her new “big girl” bedroom so the baby can eventually end up in what has always been our baby room. I’ve got the room emptied out, all of the components purchased, but need to fill holes, paint, paint the doors, add a closet system and then finally put all the furniture in place. (It was kind of a wasteland room since we moved in 10 years ago..). Her birthday is 9/25 and I’m hoping to make her new room her main birthday present.
For baby stuff - I grabbed a like new premiere halo bassinet on FB marketplace this week for $75ish less than everyone else was selling them for (and $100 less than I’d be able to get it new, even with coupons). I got a infant car seat on sale to replace our expired one. We CD, so diapers are still covered. Oh! I also called insurance and confirmed pump coverage, so I ordered and got that this week too. Next week is my AS, so I’m excited for that even though we are team green again.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? At my MFM appt last week I found out I have a velamentous cord insertion. Which only like 1% of singleton pregnancies get but IVF is a precursor, so yay me. The MFM gave me zero idea of what that means for me moving forward, so I was left googling until my appt with my OB next week. So many potential scary things(IUGR, early labor, stillbirth, ect), not to mention I'm downright terrified to have a csection and that's highly likely now thanks to this VCI. I cant wait for my OB appt because I know she will sit down and talk me through what this means for labor/delivery.
3. Questions for the group? Anyone have VCI experience or knowledge?
4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery?
Nursery is like 80% put together. I dont really have much to do now, which is good because theres a chance this baby is coming earlier than her due date potentially.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Still feeling good. DH and I have had some disagreements regarding names. We’re not really getting anywhere. It’s not a panic though since we ‘lost’ our first choice name to friends last time and came up with something entirely new in the last two weeks. I’m kind of hoping something similar happens again so I can get my ass in gear. Still have 3 friends with team green babies to be born before our guy shows up so who knows?
3. Questions for the group?
4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery? Hahaha the nursery looks like a bomb went off in there. The furniture is all assembled and attached to the wall where required, so I really just need to organize all of the hand me downs strewn about the room and make it look half decent so you can at least walk across the floor. We just moved into the house 1.5 months ago and this is the last room to be finished. Since I was team green with DD I actually did most of the decorating after she was born so I’m not too fussed about the room looking unfinished.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I'm feeling done. Hopefully I go into labor soon. Hoping for a VBAC so unless I go into labor in the next 2 weeks I'll be going for a c/s 2 weeks from today. They won't induce me and because of GD won't let me go past my due date.
My dog knows something is up and has been acting like a little weirdo. I hope he's ok. Also--work is crazy busy and I'm ready to tap out.
3. Questions for the group? Open to any good tips on jump starting labor. LOL
4. How’s baby prep coming along?Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery? I think we're ready. I want to buy a PBK Anywhere Chair with his name, but otherwise it's all done I think. He's just taking DS' old nursery though so not much to do. I'm barely packed, but it's kind of hard to because I still need to use/wear stuff. I'll just throw some shit in a bag at the last minute like last time. Haha

1. How far along are you? 6 weeks
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I have felt pretty crappy this week. I feel queasy all day and have zero energy. Certain odors are really bothering me, too. We have an antique rug in our living room that has always smelled like wool and I can't handle it. I haven't been in that room all week, lol.

4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery? Oof, I get overwhelmed when I think about creating a nursery. First, we need to combine DH's office (he WFH) with our guest room. We will need to purchase a new bed for guests and potentially get rid of a large dresser (which I love and am irrationally attached to). Then we will turn DH's old office into the nursery. We moved across the country a couple of years ago and didn't save any baby items, so we'll be starting from scratch.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Overall I feel great and I got a new mattress which has helped with hip/back pain. I'm still dealing with BH and hormonal issues that have wrecked havoc on my skin. I'm just thankful to be so close to my due date. I keep telling myself 13 more weeks. I can make it just 13 more weeks.

4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery? This past weekend my mom came over and we did a deep purge of my house. We cleared out the spare room that will be the baby's room. Her bf hauled all the junk to the dump along with trash we collected from my boy's room/house. It feels so good to have room and everything is clean. I purged my hall closet/bathroom/bedroom/laundry room/mud room too. Next up is cleaning out my fridge and pantry then wiping down the inside.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? second pregnancy is no joke. I’m so tired and sore. And to make matters worse we’ve had the worst heatwave the last week or so. Not as bad as NL dreamcrisp1 but bad enough. I didn’t think being pregnant and due at the end of the Summer was a problem last time but I guess that’s because we had quite the crappy Summer back in 2016. The only really hot days were back in late May/early June when I was just 29-30 weeks. Very different from being 36 weeks.
Not pregnancy related though complicated by the pregnancy (being to far along to travel or to even be comfortable about DH travelling far) we’ve had terrible news in our family. Our niece (DH’s brother’s daughter) died following open heart surgery a few weeks ago. She and her identical twin just turned 4 while we were visiting like a month before it happened. It’s been absolutely devastating and We wish we could have been there to support her parents and siblings but I can’t travel out of Europe for insurance reasons and neither me nor DH felt comfortable about him going that far away with me being 33+ weeks.
3. Questions for the group? nope
4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery? how about everything? I’ve been fairly relaxed about it since I still have several weeks to go (and I fully expect to go at least a week past my due date) but it’s starting to stress me out a bit. DS daycare opens up next week after being closed for 4 weeks so I’m waiting until then to start on the to do list. I need to reorganize the closet so we can fit our two dressers in there. Once the dressers are out of our bedroom there will be room to put the crib there. Need to get it cleaned and raise the bottom. I also need to wash all the crib sheets and blankets and baby clothes. And I need to get the bassinet back on the bugaboo. Like we have everything we need (except for some diapers as I only have one pack and some nipple cream) but all of it is in the basement and needs to be cleaned. I also should probably think of preparing DS birthday and gifts just in case since it’s just days before my due date. And I’ve done pretty much nothing to prepare for the actual birth.
Actually I just realized I do have a question. We will obviously ask BIL and SIL and they get to decide if they are ok with it. But what do you think, is this a terrible idea?
We used family names (DH’s grandfather’s middle name for DS first name and my grandfather’s first name for DS middle name + a name based on my step dad for his second middle name) and we planned to do something similar this time with baby girl’s FN being just a name we like but her middle names being after both our mothers.
However with the death of our niece both me and DH thought about using her name as a middle name instead. Would that be horrible?
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? Got my second beta results, doubling time was 25 hours so that's positive. My PAL anxiety is still through the roof. If I can make it to Tuesday I will have past the point of both losses. It's a long weekend here so I'm trying to plan lots of stuff to keep myself busy and distracted.
3. Questions for the group? Nothing right now.
4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery? I'm not doing anything until we know for sure that this baby is going to stick.
EllieT I'm so sorry for the loss of your niece! How devastating for your family! I think its sweet to want to use her name, but I would absolutely run it by her parents. Being that the loss is so fresh to them still, they may love the idea or completely hate it.

Yeah that’s kind of what we’re thinking. Could be appreciated by them but could also be a horrible idea.
I think we might send them an email about it so they’re not put on the spot having to react to it in front of us on skype or something. Give both of them a chance to have their say. And we’ll tell them if they don’t like the idea they can just send us a reply saying no and we’ll forget about it and not mention it again.

G22, I don’t have any experience but I’m sorry. I hope you can get clear answers and directions and everything goes smoothly for you.
icedcoffee, my dog does too! He’s been acting so strange and clingy.
EllieT, so sorry to hear about your niece. I think it’s sweet but they may also not be receptive. I agree email is a good idea.
The heatwave was brutal. I looked at Scandinavia as I contemplated escaping the hell and it was still hot. I legitimately almost did not survive and was melting down (pun intended). Over 100 for nearly 4 days and no a/c. 😩

1. How far along are you? 36+3
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I am definitely nesting and I have done so much today. It’s insane. I have started acupuncture, drinking red raspberry leaf tea, and birth ball bouncing. Please get out in the next 2 weeks, baby. Please. 🤞🏽🤞🏽

4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery?
Pretty ready. I need to pack my hospital bag but I got tons done today. All the important things are ready - clothes, CDs, car seat, bassinet, etc.
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? DH and I took a quick baby moon trip to a resort in AZ and OMG did it feel good to float in a pool! I could have stayed in there all day! Now I’m sad we don’t have our own...
3. Questions for the group? Any tips for congestion, especially at night? I’m already using nasal strips, a cool mist humidifier and doing a saline rinse. Last night I woke up and could barely breathe.
4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery? Next step is getting paint samples up in the nursery. Also test driving new vehicles!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? just starting to feel huge and slow, which is not good since i've got 12 weeks left.
3. Questions for the group? not that i can think of now!
4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery? pretty good. we moved DS1 (age 5) into his new bedroom (formerly guest room) and he's thrilled. but, it meant transferring the chaos/catch-all of random baby stuff from that room back to the nursery and his new room looks awesome, but the nursery is now a disaster. oh well, we have time to get that all settled. other major things coming up are working on "registry" (only set one up on amazon to get a completion discount to buy things ourselves) and other house organization stuff before DS1 starts kindergarten in a few weeks and i head back to work (teacher with the summer off!).
G22 - no experience with the cord issue, but i had an unexpected c-section and really didn't find it all that bad. recovery was not like the most fun thing ever, but also not the horror stories i had been told/read. my DH did most of the early diapers and baby-fetching which i think helped a lot. i'm 99% sure i'm opting for a scheduled c-section this time around, since i've been through it before and the idea of knowing what to expect and being able to schedule care for DS1 is very comforting/anxiety-reducing.

3. Questions for the group? So, we don't live close to family so any shower we have would be hosted by our people here. When we first announced, a sweet friend told me she wanted to help head up a big church shower. I told her that would be wonderful and thank you. That was 3+ months ago. It seems that most people know when their shower is by this point in their pregnancy... even if it's not until closer to their due date. IMO showers are gift grabs and it's uber tacky to throw your own so we would never do that. We have a few baby things that we bought at a great sale but had been warned by friends to wait for most things for the shower. Now I'm panicked that we haven't been buying things along the way, there won't end up being a shower, and we'll have to drop major cash at the end just to be ready. WHICH IS FINE but I'd like to just know so we can prepare financially.
(Admittedly, I feel a little paranoid about being forgotten - which is totally hormonal, I know. The culture at church is for a big shower to be hosted, and I headed up 2 in the last 2 years, and neither of those moms have made any mention of a shower for me)
I just don't think I can ask her about it again, you know? IF one of our moms was planning to fly in, I would just for calendaring reasons. But they aren't coming.
So my question is... was your shower on the calendar by ~26 weeks along? It seems most take place between 32-36 weeks along and that seems like it'll be here super fast. Please tell me I'm being ridiculous and to just be darn thankful for whatever I get
4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery? We are shiplapping 1 wall in the nursery and that hopefully will happen in the next couple of weeks. Only furnishings left to buy are the glider and rug but everything else is mostly still in boxes waiting on the wall to be done. I have been on an organization kick and have organized all our kitchen cabinets and storage, pantry, linen closet, office closet, and nursery closet. If the temp ever drops below 4000, I am organizing our outdoor storage shed, too. There are few things I love more than clear buckets with cute labels on them
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week?
Baby girl is measuring a bit ahead and I'm trying not to freak out, lol. I seem to remember my first doing the same at this point but she was only 6lbs15 at birth, so hopefully this baby is just like her big sister.
3. Questions for the group? Anyone else measure ahead at the a/s but not give birth to a giant? lol I need some reassurances.
4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery?
Haven't really done anything special since this baby is also a girl. We have most of what we need, although I will be getting her new bedding and will replace the rock n play with something else.
fairfax my OB ok'd Flonase for congestion. I use it at night before going to bed and it's made a difference for me. I've tried stopping it and after like 2 nights, I'm so stuffed up again in the middle of the night.
robinsbff thank you for that reassurance! Admittedly I havent even worried about the recovery part aspect yet. I'm just legit terrified about the csection itself. Feeling confined and/or unable to move is one of my anxiety triggers, so I'm mostly worried about trying not go into full blown panic attacks during the procedure. I seriously would rather be knocked out completely than awake during it, that's how strong my fear is.
This didn’t get posted this week but we have so many new people here so I thought I’d post it today!
1. How far along are you? 31+1 today. Holy shit!
2. Pregnancy-related AW/vents/randoms for the week? I feel like I'm going to burst. Literally. Kid seems to think she can get out through the front. But also the pelvic pressure (and SWELLING down there- that's fun) is out of control, too. But luckily, unlike with DS, the rest of me hasn't swelled. I am the stereotypical "all belly" pregnant lady. We have a growth scan tomorrow and I'm hoping everything looks ok since the doctor was concerned with my fundal height measurement being 2-3 weeks behind last week (although I firmly believe that measuring someone's stomach is a very dumb non-scientific way of learning anything).
3. Questions for the group? Not this time.
4. How’s baby prep coming along? Anything major on your to do list in the next few weeks? How about a nursery? Uh. Not good. We are just kind of floating along. Also this kid needs a name. We've got a running list that we can't seem to eliminate any other names off of which includes Catherine, Eliza, Elizabeth, Emilia, Evelyn, Hannah, Josephine, and Vivian/Vivienne. That's... too many. This kid might come home with no name. But she's just going to use DS's nursery. But we're taking out the book shelf and glider and moving it to his big boy room, so I need to order a new chair for the nursery and I just can't find one that I like.
3. Questions for the group? Anyone else measure ahead at the a/s but not give birth to a giant? lol I need some reassurances.
I had growth scans throughout my pregnancy with DS because of GD. I swear they said he was going to be a 9-10 pounder and he came out at 6 lb 11 oz. I was 12 days early, but still. Not a giant baby. GIANT HEAD THOUGH
3. Questions for the group? Anyone else measure ahead at the a/s but not give birth to a giant? lol I need some reassurances.
During my pregnancy with DS I was always measuring ahead and EVERY damn u/s tech was all like "man, this kid has a big head" (Gee, thanks now I'm terrified).
In the end he ended up being 8 lb 1 oz but was super puffy and lost a fair amount of weight right away (more than normal) which my midwife said was to be expected because I was in labour for so long and received so many bags of fluid. She suspects he was probably closer to 7.5 lbs true weight. They weren't wrong about the head size though. Still to this day the kid has a big head.

Ha! Yes, DS still has a big nugget. We had to size up in shirts only because of his head. He's a string bean, so he's running around at 26 months in 18m pants that look like flood pants, but loose 2T tops because of his big head and wide shoulders. Please have a smaller head, DD. Pleeeeease.
Thanks knx9211 and achi. Although my two and a half year old has a giant head (and did when she was born), this baby seems to be closer to expected in regards to head and body length. It was specifically her arm and leg measurements that had me alarmed, those were measuring almost two weeks ahead, which seems crazy, but maybe it was affected by how much she was moving around? Both the tech and the dr struggled to get a good look at what they needed to, and she never did give them a good shot of her face. I go back for another growth scan on the 15th, one of the advantages of being ama and hypothyroid is having regular scans. With my first pregnancy, I wasn't nearly as anxious about my baby's measurements but this pregnancy has had me anxious in general, which I know isn't helping things overall.
