I have an update: DD is doing great at school. Thankfully with volleyball, she knows someone in every class, she has made friends in homeroom. She eats with the team at lunch. A girl she used to play softball with and who's dad I went to 12 years of school with and is a cop spends about 2 classes with her and they walk to and from. Of the friends she has made so far, one is the cop, one I used to work with, and a couple I went to school with their parents. Guess that is the benefit of growing up and living in the same town.
We are camping this weekend. My girlfriends and their kids. We are sending the kids to the water/amusement park attached to the campground, and we are sitting by the pool, childless at least until dinner. DH is pouting because he has to work. A couple of the other husbands are going. I really don't want to hear his nonsense. If he was off, he would heehaw around about going. Plus, he uses pretty much 3.5 weeks of vacation each year hunting, or doing things he wants to do. Only about 3 days for our actual family. So if he wanted to participate in some of this stuff with us, he could make us a priority, not his hobbies.

My bonus set of ILs(because who doesn't need 3 sets) have rescheduled our meeting that they requested for the 3rd time this week. They are not in the best of health so they have bad days more than they have good days it seems like, so I am not mad or anything. Annoyed is more like it. Oh well. My day will end earlier and I can go to the gym and work on the new house sooner.
Updates: - Current house: inspection for first buyers was Wednesday, so we are waiting to hear if they want anything fixed. At that point we will use the second offer as a bargaining tool. We were still home when they arrived for the inspection and they asked about the playset. We planned to take it with us but at least that can be a good way to start renegotiating. - Office: Our realtor hassled the buyers' realtor about finishing up financing and he was assured for the last month that everything was done and we could close very soon. Well, the bank ordered an appraisal on Friday. It appears to have been done already because a door that we don't lock (entry to a breezeway) was locked yesterday. So, maybe next week? I should probably go to that property at pack what I have left since they get immediate possession. - DS and Kinder: Wednesday seemed to have been better than Monday and Tuesday, which were better than last week. Schools were closed yesterday due to a water main break, but they are back today. Hopefully he comes home somewhat cheerful.
Weekend: DH and I have a house demo date tonight and the kids are staying at MIL's house. Tomorrow the kids and I are going to the state fair with MIL and DH works. Sunday is more demo or pulling staples out of the hardwoods. And also packing. Not sure where I'll be packing, but all the places need packed up at this point haha.
We are going on a double date to eat sushi at an upscale sushi place with some friends. DH will have to wear actual pants instead of shorts. I haven’t yet broken the news to him. The kids are staying with his mom. I’m excited!
That is our only plan this weekend. It’s HOT here. Triple digits. I’m not looking forward to that part.
callmekd you are the best neighbor ever. I could see asking you to watch them for an hour or two, but bedtime?!
mommyatty we also have a double date tonight that I'm looking forward to, at a new restaurant/tequila bar.
Tomorrow is gymnastics, then bday party for one of DD's friends (to which I could probably take all 3 kids, but I'm only taking DD so it's a break for me too), then haircuts for the kids in the PM.
Sunday is DD's 7th bday party at our community pool. I need to finish up the planning for that. Then tennis lesson for me with friends.
Should be a good weekend! Though both older kids are not feeling 100%, so that could derail things. I'm picking them up early today so they're not running around in the sun all day.
Grabbing dinner with a friend tonight, partially to catch up on life and partially for some business talk. I love geeking out with her over marketing ideas.
Tomorrow is date night with the same guy again. We're going out to dinner at a nice place on the water, so I'm hoping we can get a table outside since the weather is supposed to be perfect.
DH is going to his 20th high school reunion tonight. Small school so all the reunions are done at the same time in the beer garden at the big Scandinavian festival the town hosts. DD has a friend sleeping over tonight so I got kid duty which is fine by me.
I'm super tired so am looking at another chill weekend. Plus our highs are 70s with chances of rain meaning its gray and gloomy.
DS1 and my nephew are having a combined birthday party tomorrow afternoon with our families at my mom's house. And of course DS1 is not feeling well today. He's been unusually quiet and tired. DH said DS1 had a low fever. I hope DS1 bounces back tomorrow. On Sunday, we will go to a co-ed baby shower for my cousin. Only three more weekends until school starts!

I'm sitting at the airport waiting to fly home. It was an amazing week in Philly. I had only spoken on the phone and IM'd with my supervisor and met her for the first time, along with another supervisor and a few coworkers. They were all so nice and the training was amazing! I went out to lunch and dinner with them and had a blast. I ate so much good food.
This morning I toured the U.S. Mint and went to a food hall before my flight. I get into my regional airport late tonight so straight to bed for me.
This weekend will be spent with the guy I've been seeing for a while now. We're going shooting for the first time together which should be fun. Everything else will be spontaneous.
DH and the kids came back yesterday and all of DD1’s progress was completely undone. She has reverted back to her PITA ways - fighting over everything and with everyone. We are laying low tonight while continue with the insane amount of muddy camping laundry.
Tomorrow we have a few things to do around the house, and then we are going for an early dinner for my mom’s birthday. Sunday will hopefully be relaxing with the family. DH is exhausting.
DH has been trying to hire someone for about 6 months. He’s crazy busy and can’t do it alone anymore. One offer fell through, and he hasn’t found the right person yet. He told me last night that he wants to hire his brother. I have... thoughts. His brother is very smart and extremely hard working, but I don’t trust his wife at all. The company is structured in such a way that BIL can’t be an owner, but I’m still worried that there will be a problem in that regard. Perhaps I’m worried about nothing. But DH has worked so hard and I don’t want anyone to dismantle anything that he’s built.
Survived the vacation and first house guest. He flew out yesterday and then second house guest arrived. Second house guest is SIL so a bit more challenging for me. I like her, I think, but she also drives me nuts and is more demanding in terms of needs. I just need to make it through tomorrow and a little bit on Sunday and then we are house guest free!
I also need to make it through DH's constant job drama. I just can't deal with so much drama. My job has had some low level over the years, but my career overall and by design has been way more laid back and low key. I'm paid less so maybe that is why, but dang I don't think the money is worth the drama.

Today is the last day of our staycation, regular weekend stuff and then school Monday. It was so nice to be home this week. We took my BfF’s daughter for a couple days and did a water park, visited my parents, met teachers and today we spent the morning at a friend’s community pool and the afternoon. At her house and all the kids played well and got along. Leftovers for tonight and I’m going to have myself a glass of wine.
I scheduled the after school sitter to stay late every other Friday so H and I can do happy hour. That starts this week and I’m very excited.
We are going to the College Football Hall of Fame since hubby is all things football and son is curious about the sport. It's supposed to be 1000 degrees so I'm happy it's inside.
Houseguest #2 left today. She was on her best behavior thankfully because sometimes it just isn’t that way with her. She can get combative quickly.
We went to the zoo because we have an annual pass. I am always glad to get more use out of it. We did the dolphin show which is always fun, and they take care of their animals pretty well here. Although I do wish they had more space...
Tomorrow is meet the teacher day. At least DH will be there. It’s 2 different schools (attached by a hallway which is usually locked). 2 different kids plus an hour long computer presentation. And we get to leave work early for this. Send them some efficiency and organization vibes.
