We lost out on another house due to someone bidding full asking price. It was NOT worth full asking price. Oh, well. So, we have gone in on another house and we'll find out tomorrow if we either have to up our bid or we'll get it (we'd up a small amount - we came half-way between our initial bid and their counter). It's a very cute 2 decent sized bedroom Victorian house with 2 small rooms - one of which will become an office and we're not sure about the other. It's off-market and the owners have found the place they want to buy (they are downsizing to a flat). The downside to the property is that we'll have to live in it while we get quite a lot of work done - we'll be putting in a large master suite in the loft area (possibly with a walk-in wardrobe and large bathroom, which is not the norm for the area but which would make it more livable for us) as well as extending the kitchen and breaking through the wall of the dining room (making a big kitchen/dining space). We'd have a separate living room which will be fabulous.
I took a picture from the handout we got when we first saw the house and a pic from the google street maps. If we can get this house, I'll take more pics when I go to measure things and share them. And, of course, will share our renovation journey (I convinced my H that as this will be our forever home that spending more money on fittings and fixtures will be worth it - hope he remains convinced).
