And I will say, I am shocked that my rate didn't go up (like, at all) when I bought a brand new SUV at the end of the year to replace my 9 year old sedan. I am guessing it's because my new car has all kinds of safety features (auto braking, lane keeping assist, etc) so it makes it safer to drive.
Probably not. All that shit on the car makes it more expensive. Your carrier may just hold the rating consistent for a vehicle replacement or something like that.
We have Geico and our rates haven't gone up. They renew every 6 months and it's been the same with a $20 plus or minus difference usually. We're in NJ. No tickets, no accidents.
This is us too except in MD. I’ve had them since 2008 and my rates really haven’t gone up in that time even with getting in an accident and getting a new car.
We just moved our homeowners to geico because usaa was going up so much each year. We did have a claim but still it was going up hundreds each year.
Ours went up, so DH had an agent shop around. We ended up with Liberty Mutual and pay $1,550 a year for full coverage. We're in Denver, I have a long commute. 2015 Nissan Rogue (no damage, no accidents) and a brand new Mazda something (6? Little 4 door car).
We've had Progressive before with no issues. Honestly, we just use an independent agent to find us the best deal and go with that. But we haven't really had any accidents or issues, so hard to say whether there are major customer service flaws with any of the companies we've been with.
