I'm considering the graham glider from west elm for baby 2, but wasn't sure if the arm rests would be too low for comfortable breastfeeding. Or, if you have other glider recommendations, please share! For my first we used a dutailier from 1987 (was my mother-in-laws when my husband was born) and that chair was in amazing shape. But, the wooden arms weren't comfortable for the newborn and me when nursing around the clock. Since this is our last and I plan to nurse again I want an insanely comfortable chair. What did you love?
Nice glider! It seems pricey for a glider, but also seems like you might be able to use it elsewhere after baby. The arms don't strike me as problematic for breastfeeding. I used a Luna Lullaby BFing pillow that I looooved way more than the Boppy or My Breast Friend, and my arms rested on that vs. the arm of the glider.
We got ours from buy buy baby but I don't remember the name. I am happy that we splurged on a nicer one - DH spent a few overnights in DD1s room and slept in it relatively comfortably! If its marketed as a glider for a baby's room I'd expect it to be designed for the breastfeeding position. The other thing I liked about ours is that the ottoman also was a glider so you could rock with your feet up - so check that out too if you think that will matter to you.

We have a pottery barn one that I love. Just the normal chair with a slipcover and ottoman (comfort maybe?). I'm pretty sure we can remove the glider part once we're over that stage which I like, since it was pricey. I've slept in it quite a few times and have washed the slip covers and its held up great (had it for 5 years)
I have the graham glider and love it! I bought it when I was pregnant with DS1 7 years ago and living in a studio apt. Very comfortable for breastfeeding, and I love that it doesn’t look like baby furniture. It’s easy to wipe clean and still looks pristine. Still use it now with DS2!
We got a rocker/recliner from Best Chairs at Buy Buy Baby. I was so glad it had the recline feature because our little girl wouldn’t nap anywhere but someone’s chest for like 9 months. So so much time was spent in that recliner with a sleeping baby on one of us.

Thanks for your feedback! I wish West Elm put reviews on their site. Good to hear that after 7 years it still looks awesome.

Thanks for the feedback. Now I'm off to google this magical breastfeeding pillow...

I've heard great things about the Best Chairs brand. I'll look in to those, too! Thanks

We got a recliner/glider from BBB for baby #2, I don't remember the brand. it was around $450-500, I'm so glad we splurged. It is so much more comfortable than the wooden glider we had for #1. Even when we move it out of DS's room we will be keeping it somewhere in the house, my kids love to sit in it to read.
We have the Graham glider and love it. I've never breastfed in it, but I don't see it being an issue. Especially if you use a boppy as well. It's super comfortable and I like that it doesn't scream nursery and we can use it somewhere else after babies.
Eta: not sure when you are due, but I got ours on black Friday for less than $700 before taxes. We picked up at the store, too, so saved on shipping.
We have a Graham in DS1’s room, but I never actually used it for breastfeeding. We had some other glider initially and that one moved to DS2’s room. I got the Graham because we still needed a chair in DS1’s room and this seemed like a style that would work well in other rooms eventually.
That said, it’s very comfortable, if a touch narrow. I really like reading in it with DS1, but it is starting to get a bit tight with both of us sitting in it. It’s a really great looking piece and isn’t showing any wear 2+ years later with daily use.
ETA: After reading this, I’m pretty sure the other glider we have (which I breastfed in a lot) is Best Chairs brand. Purchased from some independent store, not a BBB.
