Do you have a favorite? We've always stayed onsite, which we love! However, DH will be in Orlando for a work thing on a tues - thur and I am thinking the kids and I can meet him and stay fri AM - sun and do a day at HS and peak at Star wars one day and then hop over to Universal to explore HP and make the tween happy one day. But trying to do this cheap-ish. We are used to a moderate resort for a week+ with the dining plan and all of the disney transportation including the ME.
So..do you have a favorite good neighbor hotel? Easiest way to get from MCO to hotel? Help me figure out a quick back and forth trip. I cam dying at the fact that DH might be right at disney and we don't take advantage of it.

Good Neighbor Hotel is just a designation for a hotel that has Disney marketing/ticket sales on site. Most of the major chain hotels have it. Some also have some bus service to/from the parks but it’s nothing like Disney Resort buses; they might only run once a day and may only drop you at one park (and you then use Disney transportation to go to other parks). If you’re going to stay off site, you’ll do best with either a rental car or using Uber/Lyft.
The Disney Springs hotels have a bus system that is pretty good; I believe they run regularly every 30 minutes. But you still have to get to the hotel from the airport; Uber/Lyft would be the cheapest way to do that.
Do the math with the cost of transportation and hotel and see what makes sense. When my family goes for a 7 or 8 day stay, it’s substantially cheaper for us to get a rental car and stay in an rental timeshare condo. When we’ve done a shorter trip, we found it more economical to stay at a Disney value hotel and use the Magical Express. If you want to do one day at Universal, you could take an Uber back and forth.

Thanks ladies! I think we decided to stay at the same place DH will be for his conference and just extend his stay. The convenience of that plus no values on site have any rooms the 2 nights we need made the decision easier.

Some of the conference centers are amazing for Disney and kids! We love both the Mariot World and the Gaylord.
