The texture of my hair seems to have changed lately. It's probably stressed and damaged due to years of processing/highlights/lowlights. I struggle with even combing it when it's wet bc it feels straw-like. I'm currently using a detangler but it's doing nothing.
Can anyone recommend a good product that will help with damage and repair?

I use coconut oil. You need time to get it out, so make sure you aren’t going anywhere special the next day. I rinse my hair out, no need to wash it since it will be washed a few times afterwards. Take a scoop out with my hands and rub in in between my hands to warm it up. Rub it in the hair and pin it up. You can wrap it in plastic wrap to warm it up, but I don’t like to do that because plastic. I’ll just use an old towel. Leave it on for 20 mins or more and wash it out.

I used Redken Mega Soft when my hair was very damaged, it was *amazing* after a few days (eh, maybe a week but not more), even with just a shampoo, it felt like my hair was still conditioned. I used nearly their entire line and it really helped my hair. I got the giant liter bottles and used them til they ran out.
I use Cibu Repair now since the Redken wasn't sulfate-free after my keratin treatment and that shizz is POWERFUL. I couldn't even use it the first few months after my keratin treatment b/c it was *too* soft. lol. I wonder if I had used that first, it probably would have been as good as the Redken.

and as we age, our hair texture changes (yay, ahem). I noticed that my gray hair is scraggly and I HATE IT SO MUCH! but a combo of my shampoos and leave in conditioners help it. It's not perfect (wavy hair in humid florida) but much better than before.

+1 and the one with Keratin is even better. A little goes a long way. I got a free full-size sample once from Ulta and I used it as a detangler. It made my hair really, really soft and combing was a dream.
