DD has been asking for a sewing machine, so we got her one for her birthday on Tuesday. I have never used a sewing machine in my life, so I have no idea what I’m doing. I got stressed out just reading the instruction manual. We’re currently on our way to the craft store to buy thread, because it didn’t occur to me it wouldn’t come with any.
How fun! Be sure to grab a seam ripper and fabric scissors. Sewing is a great hobby!
Maybe this is a dumb question, but have you looked into what your insurance might pay for an out-of-network provider? I found a therapist I loved but she didn't participate with ANY insurance companies. Instead, she provided a bill which I submitted to my insurance and they reimbursed me 75% I think.
Yes, it’s about $90 a session.
I definitely need meds. Maybe I’ll talk to my primary about it.
bugmeetsworld, have fun! The hardest part for me was figuring out how to thread the thing and to wind the bobbin. Once you do it a few times, it's not so bad!
I’m having a really hard time, and it’s fucking impossible to find a therapist that’s in network. I really don’t know what else to do. I can’t spend $400 a month on therapy.
I went through this recently and could not believe how hard it was to find someone. Rather than find a therapist and then check if they took my insurance, I went the other direction and ran a search through my health insurance website. I researched each search result and contacted every person that fit the specialty I needed. After all that, only one practice returned my call. I agree it is nearly impossible to find a therapist when you are already in a bad place, but it has made a big impact for me and I hope you can find someone. Good luck.

I also did this, and no one is taking new patients. I seriously don’t get it.
Teenagers are hard. It gets tiring having to figure out what you let them do and what you don’t. I am also tired of how lazy they are. I was lazy and spoiled but still worked. She has no interest in even babysitters.

Sitting outside enjoying some wine and quiet. DD is spending the night at my parent's house and DH is rough housing with the boys in the basement. I rarely drink, so my second glass and I an feeling it. I'm looking at houses for fun on Zillow. We live in an artsy area, so some houses are interesting, like the one with stone and a wooden bridge...inside the house.
Tomorrow going to declutter DD's room since she will be gone. Then going on a tour of an old theater in our downtown. Will pick up DD after. No plans for Sunday, should be less humid so a family bike ride may be in order.
DD has been looking at my late MIL's sewing machine lately (we have it sitting on a table in a nook in her honor). I should learn how to use it and teach the kids. DD would love to make doll clothes and the boys might make comfy pillows. But I am home economically challenged and lazy about that sort of stuff.
I’m planning on starting the curly girl hair method. I’m so nervous that my hair is going to look like a greasy mess. My hair has always been wavy, but over the past couple of months, the curls have intensified. I’m really hoping that it goes well!
I recently used the app Zocdoc to find a new psychiatrist. You can filter your search according to who accepts your health insurance. It definitely narrowed the pool a bit, but saved me so much time.

Have you looked at LUS brand? They have a wavy line.
My MIL and SIL are here for the every ~8 week check up for MIL's cancer, and since they stay with us for 4+ days each time they are cooking dinner tonight as a sort of thanks for a place to stay. My MIL just peeled cucumbers directly into my counters without putting down a mat or anything. I was a little concerned I was going to have to stop her from chopping directly on the counter too (I don't have those kind of counters) but she held them to slice. It all's smells good, but they screwed around until late doing other stuff today with my nephews, so we aren't going to be eating until after 9 pm, and my IBS flared this afternoon so I'm probably not going to get to eat much anyway. Sigh.

I haven’t! I’m hoping that with the right products/techniques, I’ll be able to coax beautiful curls out of my increasingly wild hair. I plopped the other day and I actually had a few perfect curls! If the products that I bought don’t work, I’ll check out LUS. Thanks for the recommendation!

I started LUS at the beginning of the summer and I haven’t put heat to my hair or brushed it in months. I LOVE the all in one and it def changed my hair for the better!
