I found a duvet cover I like but it only comes in California King. Would that work okay for a (regular) King bed? It would just have extra length to fold over on the top, right?
Noooooo don’t do it! A California King bed is narrower than a standard King. It’s only 4 inches but it makes a difference in terms of the cover drop on each side. I would only go for it if it said it was for an extra deep mattress and if you don’t have one of those. Then it might be alright.
Also, the extra fabric at the bottom will drag the bedding down off of you at night. You will also have to get a California King size duvet to go with it.
My Grandma accidentally made our wedding quilt California King size. It does not work on our bed at all.
We actually have a full size bed in an antique bed frame that sits really high, and we have a king duvet on it. It covers the mattress and box nicely and allows for me to still be covered when my H tries to hog all of the covers. I don't know what we would do it we had a bigger bed. ;p
