I think you might need to chill a little bit. She didn't say the claims adjuster was "rubbing her the wrong way." She said she was "anxiously waiting to hear back" and made a comment about how it's odd that they don't work on the weekends. Which you yourself just said is weird that she wasn't able to get more information or a rental this weekend, so she doesn't really appear to be out of line here. I sincerely doubt wildrice is blaming the claims adjuster for not working on weekends. More likely she's thinking it's odd that her insurance company can't do more to help her until days after a really shitty situation.
Fair enough and maybe I do. I'm just sensitive because as an adjuster I use to get yelled at all the time by clients who expected me to be available 24/7.
My frustration is not with the adjuster the person, but with the policy that nobody can do anything for me until weekday business hours. I have a job too, that I need have my car to drive to, and my insurance company is supposed to make sure I am not further impacted when I have a claim. I don't fault someone for having the weekend off, but they should have staff available to help sooner than 2 full days after it was reported. I'm already anxious about my safety, given that this happened on the doorstep of my home, and about the hundreds or thousands of dollars this is going to end up costing me, so not having any information whatsoever is not helping.
I'm sorry my reaction after being a victim of a serious crime isn't pleasing to you, though. Thanks.
ETA: Like, I can't even go get a new phone because I don't know if insurance will cover it. That will impact how much I can spend on it. It would have been nice if someone could have told me what my policy covers so I could look into getting a new one. I'm on day 3 without it. I also pay extra for rental car coverage so that I don't have to figure out how to get to work if I don't have access to my car. But here I am on a workday with no rental car and no answers.

My major work event for the year was this weekend. I t got screamed at by a coworker in a different department who I've never met. My boss was like "oh hell no" so now we have to hash it out this afternoon. Blerg.
We're getting the new house painted this week so we can move next weekend. Finally!
I have a "coffee chat" with two consultants from a really big consulting firm this evening. It's not an interview, but I'm hoping that it going well means I'll get the chance to interview for an internship. I think I'm going to order a half-sweet caramel apple spice because I can't have caffeine at 7pm, lol. I'm trying to prepare by thinking of answers to usual chit chat questions (movies, books, tv shows, etc.) and really trying hard to think of thoughtful, intelligent questions to ask THEM. One is going to be any business/consulting books they'd recommend.
Also, I have midterms this week so my stress levels are OFF.THE.CHARTS. lol I feel confident enough about everything except Accounting. Fucking Accounting. But hopefully I know 80%. I just need to keep at 3.0 to stay in the program.
Ok, so I would add 1/4 tsp of cinnamon, and 1/8 tsp each of clove and nutmeg. That will help mimic the spices you would find in apple cider. (I'm knocking down my original amounts because it's only a cup of juice.)
If you don't have some/all of those spices, don't worry about it. There's plenty of flavor there from the juice, brown sugar, mustard, and other spices.
I have a dumb cooking question but don't want to make a whole new post about it. If a recipe for a glaze for a ham calls for apple cider, but I don't have apple cider, can I use apple juice instead?
Yes, Apple juice is fine. I’d only add spices if it calls for spiced cider. Cider and juice are processed differently and juice has a more thin flavor, IMO, just close enough that I would sub it in for cooking. Cider =/= spiced cider.
Today is DS's first day in the big toddler room lol.
DS's sleep has been awful recently, like 3 wake up minimums when he used to sleep through the night for 12 hours straight. Thankfully, he was only up once last night and for a few minutes only (and then got up a second time, yelled for a second and then immediately fell back asleep) but it took me over an awful to fall back asleep after going into his room. Argh.
When my kids would go through this, I would give them some tylenol or baby ibuprofen and it would help. I think it would be growing pains upsetting their sleep (as this is when we do our growing). Maybe something to try tonight and see if it helps? I hope you all get some good sleep soon!
I have to go to TSC and pick up grain because the one in my friend's town when I went for her on Saturday didn't have my grain and I was sad. So now I get to go after work and pick some up and take it to the barn and I didnt plan to ride today, so I am in jeans, which makes riding a no-go Might stop by the farrier store to see how much this mud that my farrier recommended on Saturday.
Still no word about the job. My boss told me that T was working out of state last week, so it’s possible that A hadn’t had a chance to talk to him. I felt fine about it until... A coworker came up to me and mentioned that he applied for a lateral transfer and received a job offer last Thursday (it expires this Wednesday). He told the CEO about it and she told him that she’d get him an interview for the non-accounting manager in training program. He’s been begging to get recommendation into the program for years but she keeps stringing him along and told everyone except him that she wouldn’t recommend him for it. Coworker said something to me along the lines of “I told them that I had to know by Wednesday whether I’m getting in, so idk why yours is taking so long to get back to you. I’ll have an answer less than a week after applying and it’s been how long for you?!” Umm dude. You have had exactly zero interviews for it and none have even been scheduled with you....there’s zero chance that you’ll know by Wednesday. Quit being an asshole. I know I shouldn’t let it bother me, but dang that burned.
