Why do you all call me about stuff instead of my husband who set up the service, is home to talk to you people, and whom is the person I always tell you to call when you call me?
I am looking at you, pool cleaners. Wife Who WORKS
Dear School:
Why am I the person teaching my kindergarten kid math? Isn’t that what I’m paying you for? I’m not appreciating this “do the math on the app” thing. It’s fine when my kid already gets the concept, but when he’s not, I don’t know how to explain it to him.

Dear Store Manager Logan at my local Lowe's,
I know customer service is a big part of your job, but you knocked it out of the park for me, so thank you. I need to figure out how to let your upline know. I feel like you went above and beyond our expectations for a discount for the small dent and scratch on our new fridge that was revealed when we had the door and handle flipped during delivery/installation. DH and I are super happy about the 25% discount.
Sincerely, Future repeat customers
Dear rain,
Please stop. We're nearing flood stage in some areas!
Dear Winterlike weather Go Away! Scraping windows in early October isn't okay. DH digging out long underwear because he is freezing at work isn't okay. Frantically finding winter clothes for DD isn't okay. Can we please go back to our normal fall of 70s and sunny. Me who needs a couple nice days to wash screens/windows/big blankets PS my garden needs warm sun too as I have way too many green tomatoes
Dear City Planners OMG you screwed up the construction timeline for the road that leads to 5 schools. The alternate routes can't handle the extra traffic and everyone is beyond annoyed. Me who took over an hour to get DD dropped off and to work. It normally takes 25-30 minutes
Dear employee, I asked you to hang a poster for me while I ran around setting up an event. When your response was "Eh, couldn't find tape. Oh well." with an eye roll, I wanted to scream. The poster was for the event I was running! Get some goddamn tape! Could you be MORE apathetic? Are you TRYING to get a bad review this month? Signed, SO ANNOYED
I'm glad to work until 9 tonight. Because Dh has a cold and I don't want to be home. Him having a cold is worse than me and both kids having a cold.
Signed, good luck kids.
Dear weather,
Where the hell is fall. You do realize its October? July has been going on for 3 months. 95 degrees? Seriously? I am out of summer stuff. This from a summer person, but it hasn't rained in a month and everything looks terrible.

Dear DS's teacher,
I can't help but be a bit smug when you told me, in amazement, that DS blew through all the tests for Grade 2, 3 and 4 math; got stuck on the Grade 5 unit on fractions; but then read the Grade 5 math textbook in an afternoon, and aced all the tests on those units.
I was not exaggerating when I said that DS is very talented in math. It's not how much he knows, but it's how quickly he can learn a concept. So please just let him work on the math program we proposed, and leave it be. He'll be happy and you won't have to do much.
Signed, Bemused parent
Dear DS,
I had a lot of fun chaperoning your class on your field trip. And it made my heart happy to see that you actually have friends; and that they are nice kids who seem to appreciate you.

Dear supervisor, Thank you for finally approving me for telework. Everything thinks it should have been done four months ago, but I'm just happy I will be able to start at home when I get back from vacation, Signed, Frustrated but knew it was out of your hands
Dear Beau, Thanks for telling me today about how excited your mom is to meet me. Signed, Not as nervous now
2chatter Hope all is well. Did your daughter ever figure out how to deal with the atmospheric pressure change migraines? 186momx who is starting to link her migraines to the low pressure systems moving in
WPs I literally stopped functioning last night at 5. The skies got dark and my nagging headache went full on migraine. I closed every curtain turned off all the lights and curled up in a ball. Had to have DD finish cooking dinner. DH told me to try and take a shower which I did in the dark. The rain started about 8pm and I was starting to feel better and actually wanted to eat. Back to a nagging headache this morning 186momx
Dear local school parents, I know you are losing your minds because some incident happened at the homecoming bonfire last night and you have no official details. So to fan the flames, a bunch of you have stormed Facebook to spread incorrect information (which you have heard third-hand at this point) ranging from some girl got hurt to some guy raped a middle school girl, killed her, and left her in the woods. You are demanding information that is not yet available and, due to privacy reasons, may not ever be available to you. Some of you have demanded that school be cancelled and the administrators respond now even though this just happened at 9pm last night. So relax, get off the Facebook, and put your faith that the administrators are all over this. I'm sure that the superintendent will address this situation as soon as he figures out what happened.
I hope your headache is feeling better today. I know how it feels to have a terrible migraine/headache but life doesn't stop when you are a WP, that's for sure! TGIF.
Dear Friday, I'm very glad you are here. Especially because the last 2-3 mornings when I wake up I thought it was the weekend. I hope there are good things on the horizon!
Dear DH,
You are kind of on my nerves. I was trying to plan date night, but you are such a Debbie Downer about everything its kind of really wearing me down. why don't you ever want to do anything fun or outside of our house? I get kinda tired of just work/come home, same thing every day. Grrrrrrr.
An 8 year old girl’s mother died. Neither her family nor our school owes you, a person who wouldn’t know her if she came back from the dead and bit you on the ass, her cause of death. Stop speculating she committed suicide or overdosed. Especially in front of my kid, who has a big freaking mouth. Just STOP. It’s not 1948. Not everyone lists cause of death in the obituary.
signed, DIL Who Likes You Less By the Day
PS I decided this week we won’t list your cause of death in your obit just so everyone you know can speculate that you drank yourself to death.
Dear grandparents, How did you all fail so miserably at grandparents' day? All four of you grown adults couldn't figure out to go to the kids' classes at the appointed time? Why would you just sit in the school library all alone? That didn't seem weird to you? You've all attended this event for the past couple years, it's not a new thing. When the PTA president texted me to ask where you all were, I panicked thinking something had happened to prevent you from getting there. Nope. You were just "lost" in the damn building. You are all MUCH too young for this to have happened. I can't deal with crazy old parents yet. Signed, Stressed Mom
Dear school, Sorry we failed at this. XH forgot to send back the RSVP papers after claiming he'd handle it, I emailed the teachers last minute, a rogue grandma showed up without letting me know she was going, and then they all screwed up actually attending the event itself. Next year we will be better. Signed, I'm usually more on top of this stuff
Dear sister, I'm glad you're laughing as hard as I am at this saga. I'm sure we'll hear all about it next weekend when the whole family gets together. Signed, Solidarity
We have the same problem with parents running to post gossip and speculation on FB, rather than wait to let police and school administration handle things. (I am aquaintances with a mom (our kids go to the same elementary school) whose husband is the School Resource Officer (employed by the county sheriff's department) for our district, and we had an incident (threat made over video game chat) Sunday night. She said that her husband got a call at 9 pm Sunday night and it was all under control within 3 hours. Meanwhile, busybody parents were all over FB spreading misinformation and panic that night into Monday.)
You are describing a nightmare scenario that is happening at our school, and ONE OF THE STAFF MEMBERS is responsible for igniting the flames. It's horrible. Parents - if you didn't witness it, STFU!!!!!
covergirl82, and mae0111, the superintendent sent an email within 15 minutes of my post here. In it, he basically said that the police are investigating and the school may or not be able to release information. I'm afraid to see what the parents' group thinks about this.
I talked to you MONTHS ago about volunteering for a position with our industry group. We talked about it several times, in fact. So when you’ve admonished me twice for volunteering without talking to you first, I’m not apologizing. I DID talk to you. Yeah, I could have reminded you. But when I’ve done that in the past, you’ve been pissy that I’m revisiting a topic that you already rendered judgment on.

Sincerely, What is wrong with you people?
Yes, parents on FB make every situation 1000% more dramatic then it needs to be!
This morning our school district woke up to the news that two of our schools have been closed due to Legionnaires disease. And parents are flipping the F out. Like, get a grip. Yes, it can be serious. But demanding testing of all 6000 students in the school system is a bit extreme. And of course people are posting all kids of worst case scenario articles. It has truly become a mob mentality. How about you let the school district and the health department do what they need to do, and IDK wait and see if your kid develops any actual symptoms? My 11 year old swam in the pool at one of the schools that closed for 3 HOURS LAST NIGHT and I am not panicked. My 7 year old literally took a steam shower there last night. Why are some of you and your kid has never step foot in the building?
And now the local media is jumping on the story... The one news channel says the police responded to a call about an unconscious female whose clothes were in disarray. She became responsive, but couldn't communicate what happened. Kid was taken to hospital and county police is investigating. The other news channel says the same, but also threw in that someone sent a message through Ring that said there was an underage sexual assault. Way to increase the hysteria, local news by using information from an unverifiable source!
