Has anyone had any success in correcting it? I asked my ob at my 6 weeks check up and she brushed it off and said it’s going to take a long time to get back to your normal self this time. I’m still annoyed she brushed me off, but it’s not getting better and I need to do something.
Is a pelvic floor pt the way to go? I read some exercise can make it worse, so I’m scared to do anything myself.
Yes, I'd seek out a PT who specializes in post-partum therapies. If you don't need a referral, even better. It's smart of you to seek out help on your own.
Post-partum care in this country is such a fucking joke.
I’ve been seeing a pelvic floor/post partum PT for the past four weeks. My diastasis hasn’t gotten any better yet, but it at least hasn’t gotten any worse.

Yes absolutely seek out a PT who specializes in post partum. It kills me the ignorance on this with OBs. I didn’t have a bad case but it was corrected. She also had me do other things that I had no idea about.
I am sad for you that your OB did not give you any exercises to deal with this! I had it and immediately after S was born my midwife gave me small exercises to help me with it. I did them whenever I pumped.

I live in England and have been taking hypopressive classes to help with my mild DR. They are basically doing breathing exercises in different poses. I don't know if there is anything like it in the US, but it is easy and only requires a few minutes a day and I have had good results so far.

This sounds similar to what I've been doing with the online program Every Mother. There's a breathing portion that's just 10 or 11 minutes a day. I love it.

Around 6 weeks I went to PT (mainly for my back issues, though also for incontinence) and a Chiro who specializes in post partum women. My separation was measuring about 3.5 cm. I got one exercise to do from the Chiro, several from the PT (and practical advice on what movements to avoid), and I signed up for Every Mother training program online. By 15 weeks, my measurement was down to 1 to 1.5 cm (depending on who was measuring). I'm not sure which of the three is most responsible for the change, but I haven't had incontinence issues now for at least two months.

Just following up, had my first appointment today. There’s definitely separation and we stated exercises. I hope I see improvement in a few months. Thank you everyone for your responses.
