Has anyone done an epoxy coating on laminate countertops? I hate my countertops. Painting alone doesn’t seem to last long which is why I’m looking at epoxy.
I used epoxy paint on wooden counters in my workshop. I actually totally forgot about them as I have been using them this way for 17 years! My counters get wet, poked, scratched weekly and I can't say I even have any chips or damage. Mine are used for work so I don't actually try to clean them for food safe purposes, but they have held up well. I also had my concrete floor done professionally with epoxy. This has also held up perfectly for the same 17 years.
orval- I want to epoxy my floors too. I ripped up the carpet in the back two rooms of my house. I know that there's food safe epoxy coatings; not sure about epoxy paint though. I'm glad to hear that that's held up well. Was it hard to do?

Hi orval, would you mind posting pics? I would love to explore this too!

I don't remember it being difficult. I think you just had to mix the paint/color with the epoxy. Other than that it was just painting.

I don't know how to post pics -- technically challenged. Is there a tutorial somewhere? They are not pretty since I use them for work -- they are 2x4's and plywood.

There are oodles of tutorials but the likelihood of a blogger being full of lies, lies, and damn lies is high. I finally found one that has regular painted countertops and then covered with a food safe epoxy coat. This is the direction I'm heading because I a) don't trust my artistic ability and b) don't care for the faux stone look.

Mollie- Awesome! Thank you for posting! For the back part of the counter that's kind of like a low backsplash, did you pour along the top edge and let it flow down? My countertop has the same thing and getting even coverage on that part is what concerns me the most.
