I am sorry you have to go through this. I had a coworker who had one. I don't know everything about it since it wasn't me. She did have some extra testing done. She wasnt out of work very long. Its been 8ish years now. I don't work with her anymore but I know she has a healthy 6 year old and from Facebook seems to be doing well.
my sister had a partial molar pregnancy 8-9yrs ago. She had a D&C but I guess I don't know specifics on that... but I don't recall her having extensive bleeding/hemorrhaging from it. They wanted her to wait like 6-9m afterwards to try to get pregnant again. She went on to have another baby about year/year and half after the molar pregnancy. Sorry that you are going through this.
I had a partial molar pregnancy in 2015 and a D&C. I didn’t have any excessive bleeding or cramping. I think bleeding lasted about 2 weeks or so, but was very light after about 5 days. I got a regular period about 7 weeks later. We did some genetic testing after and I got pregnant again about 9 months later.
I had a complete molar pregnancy about 12 years ago. The things that I remember well are being so upset about the disruption to our family planning and having to wait to try to get pregnant again. Then the weekly blood tests lasting 3 months or so and that was expensive for us. And I specifically remember going out to eat before going home after the D&C because I felt better for some reason.
I found out at 12 weeks and do not remember bleeding or worrying about bleeding. I recall being very upset that the Dr. asked me what type of birth control I wanted to be on because I wanted to be pregnant, not worrying about side effects from the molar pregnancy. We had a high deductible insurance plan and the weekly blood tests really added up. If I could go back in time I would stretch those out to 10 days or 2 weeks apart because more testing doesn't make the HCG numbers drop any faster, no matter how much I wished it would.
I'm so sorry you're going through this, I know it doesn't feel fair. Our 12 week ultrasound when the molar pregnancy was discovered was on my daughter's 2nd birthday and she's now 14 and my son that we had after the MP is almost 11. Our family is perfectly perfect and there is nothing I would change about when or how I had my children.
I had a partial molar pregnancy several years ago. I don't remember excessive bleeding, it really didn't seem that bad at all. We discovered mine at 11w4d, but the baby had stopped growing around 8 weeks.
The weekly blood tests and having to wait a while to TTC again were the worst parts.
Silver lining maybe... On my next pregnancy, my Doctor did ultrasounds every 1-2 weeks for my first trimester so I got to see the baby often and have extra reassurance that things were ok.

I'm late to the game and see you've already had surgery, hope everything went well! I was going to say, like others, that I had a partial molar and a D&C and didn't experience any different effects than with my previous D&E. The only notable thing was it took forever for my levels to drop back to normal, so lots and lots of testing. That was frustrating. But I had 3 more pregnancies after that and none were molar (2 of the 3 were normal)
