It seems like it always takes forever to complete a project, so I don’t often have much to post. But we finally finished one of the renovations we had planned for years. This summer we worked on renovating our basement bathroom/closet. One of the previous owners finished the basement and turned what probably supposed to be a wine cellar into an enormous, carpeted bathroom 🤮. Next to the bathroom was a teeny tiny closet that basically had the main water valve and fuse box in it. We planned to make the bathroom smaller and the closet bigger for a long time, but finally DH got fed up and started knocking down walls. 😝
Here’s a view from the closet once the wall was knocked down. See how uselessly huge it is?
And here’s the adjacent closet (just the concrete area).
Here’s the new wall and new LVP in the bathroom.
DH built a frame for the ugly mirror.
Here is the closet side. I’m sitting on the chest freezer to take the picture.
My favorite part is my wrapping station.
Someday I will replace the vanity, if I find a deal. I’d love a prettier shower, but since it’s perfectly functional it seems excessive and probably won’t be done.
A wrapping station! That’s brilliant! Not to mention the entire thing is so much lovelier than what was there before.
Thank you! I was horrified at the amount of paper, bags, bows, etc that I had. I would just buy more because it was such a pain to find what I needed. I’m hoping now that it’s all in one place I can use it efficiently. I shouldn’t have to buy gift wrapping supplies for quite a while!
I'm lol-ing at the uselessly huge bathroom--with carpet. I can't imagine why you wanted to change it! It really looks great now, nice work!!
My in-laws had an enormous bathroom with just a sink and a toilet in their old house's basement. Because of some weird code, they couldn't put a shower or bathtub in there and it was just this huge room. Using the toilet in there was unnerving because everything echoed!
