I had fallen in love with this leather sectional online, and pretty much planned the new living room around it for the past six months.
It's from Room and Board -- we live in Philly, and the only stores nearby are D.C. and NYC. We ended up taking a trip to D.C. this weekend to check it out in person, and it was REALLY uncomfortable to sit on, especially for my husband!
In the end, we ordered a separate sofa and loveseat, the Andre in Total Ink. They had it in that color in the store and I really liked it. Plus, it was super comfortable for both of us to sit on. Bonus is it will come two months earlier than the other one, and both pieces all together cost half as much. And I do really like it, I'm just having trouble making the mental adjustment from what I had pictured all this time. And as a random -- a few reviewers say how the Total Ink color reads like navy blue in a light room. I didn't think so at all -- it looked dark charcoal grey to me in the shade and light charcoal grey in the light, and I hope it doesn't read as navy in my room, which is white! Here's a photo of the sofa in the color I ordered which is consistent with how it looked in the store.
Here's the rug I have for the room:

Any suggestions for curtain colors? I worry more charcoal grey will be too dark, and I don't know if I want to go full pink -- I got a few pink throw pillows for the couch as well. Maybe a lighter grey? Or something linen-y to tie in the main color of the rug?

Love the couch! I think it will look great in that space. Since you now have built-ins around the windows on one side, do you really want curtains? We opted to not get any curtains in our living area but we got Hunter Douglas top-down bottom-up shades in an off-white color. They have double honeycombs, so they are great for insulation. They have them in all kinds of colors. They are pricey but I am really glad we got them. If you do get curtains, I would not get pink or grey. Maybe a beige? It seems there is some beige in the rug.
Love the new sofa choice- I hadn't thought to look at R&B (we're definitely going to need to replace our Ikea version in the next couple of years), but that's perfect. They look great with the rug!

Room and Board sofas (and Flexsteel sofas) were ones that consistently got good reviews for good construction and longevity on the message board I checked out. :-)

Yeah, the more I think of it the more I think I'll do the same roman shades on those windows instead...with the loveseat there it'll be harder to open and close curtains. Before I thought that the curtains would add more color/texture, and also that I was too lazy to take down the curtain hardware and fix whatever may or may not be painted behind it since it's been up since we bought the house and before we painted the paneling, but we didn't have a piece of furniture there before...just the exercise bike.
I would definitely do off white Roman shades or blinds on the left wall with the built ins. I would want something light and neutral that would not compete with all the things that I am assuming will be on the shelves (unless you are the kind of person to have a highly curated shelving display).
I will also chime in that we put in the Hunter Douglas Architella Honeycomb blinds in our living and dining room areas and they are awesome.
You could still do curtains on the opposite side of you want more visual interest, colour or softness to the space. Since they are on opposite walls That are set up very differently I don’t think they have to match (I am not a window coverings matching person).
also, isn't the Room & Board store like a dream land? I live near the DC one and I seriously love that place. Every time we go, DH practically has to drag me out because I like to pretend I live there

Yeah, I felt sad that we didn't really have time to look around! We basically sat on the sectional, realized it wasn't going to work for us, and then went to a diner to regroup. We went back to look just at the sofas, and the Andre was the first one we tried. We tried all the other ones that were in the "firm" category but it was by far the best for us. I can even sit all the way back and still bend my knees, which NEVER happens since I'm so short!
