Weekend was pretty good. Friday was my e/o Friday off, so of course it meant I was busy all day. I ended up having to do some work in the morning and later afternoon. The kids had a half day, but I had to pick them up a little early to make it to our eye doctor appointments on time. DD is getting glasses that she will wear in class at school and then for any other times she needs to see a distance (she's nearsighted like me and DH). After the eye doctor, we went to the chiropractor. Saturday we went to DS's rec basketball game (his team won), then DH and DS left to go to a college football game with friends and DD and I did a bunch of things (grocery shopping, pedicures, dinner out, movie). Sunday was church and then a free afternoon. I did a ton of cleaning (and the kids helped with some of it), and the great thing is that most of the house is now clean, all at the same time.
This week I was going to try and take Wed - Fri off (and next week Mon - Tue too), but I don't think that will happen due to my workload. Now I'm hoping to be able to take Fri - next Tue off.
It is snowing (forecast is for up to 5" by tomorrow morning) and the roads were not good when I took the kids to before school care this morning. Crossing my fingers for no snow day tomorrow...I have a feeling it's going to be a long winter, and we don't need to start racking up snow days now.
I decided I'm going to start casually looking for jobs, preferably remote/WFH jobs. I really, really do not like doing sales commissions, and it has become most of my job now. There is no one on my team to hand-off the work to, so I feel stuck with this crappy work. I did find a couple jobs on LinkedIn this weekend, so I need to polish up my resume and apply.
I put a dent in Christmas shopping this weekend. I went to Bunco Friday and everyone was listing what the have bought and it was giving me anxiety. Yay for online shopping and Kohl's sales.
I'm having a great Monday. Lounging in my robe drinking coffee. I've been puttering around cleaning a little loafing a little. The kids were indignant that I have a day off and not them. That never happens.

We had a very hot and cold weekend. Some parts were lovely but DD1 had a lot of meltdowns and DD2 was very whiney the day after her bday party. I think it was tiredness and overstimulation. I put everyone to bed an hour early.
I woke up with a migraine and the meds are making me drowsy. Plus Thsi morning I was about to leave for work when my best friend called to tell me her daughter, who had been rolling around with my kids Saturday, has lice. I did a check and they look okay but I’m on nit-watch now. Joy.
Work is very busy with end of year administrivia and I DNW. Just have to keep my head down and forge ahead. Two weeks until thanksgiving break!
All 3 kids are off today, so I took the day too. We’re going downtown to the children’s museum for a couple hours when it opens, then out to lunch and home for the toddler’s nap. I’m going to try to get them all flu shots this afternoon.
Weekend was pretty good. Our across the street neighbor is a volunteer at a cool place in town and had his bday party there Friday night that included a behind the scenes tour. Yesterday DH took DS1 to a monster truck show as a reward for getting enough stickers on his school behavior chart we made him, and DD had a bday party. I got to sit alone in my house for two hours while DS2 napped, which was also great.
Our neighbors are doing a backyard project that involves jackhammering. Guess I won’t be keeping my windows open today.
Weekend was good. We had the youngest’s birthday party Saturday night. He just invited 3 other boys, but man boys are so different than girls! It was fun and I’m glad it’s over so I don’t have to do any other birthdays for my kids till late spring. . I’m not a mom who loves doing big birthday celebrations. Rest of the weekend was uneventful...
It snowed a little last night. Blah, but it will be 60’s the rest of the week and I was able to leave for work later since I didn’t have to drop off kids so it’s fine. My co-worker doesn’t come to work when it snows usually and he’s not here today. It cracks me up. It snowed like an inch maybe and the roads are mostly fine. Suck it up buttercup! Especially since he was just on 2 weeks of vacation.
librarychica I would probably spray their hair with the LiceFree spray a couple of times this week just in case. It's not labor intensive and it is pretty effective. But lice, bedbugs, fleas, etc....are my nightmare so I am a little over the top.

I'm off today with DS. We didn't do much this weekend. We visited my parents yesterday. Beau will come over for dinner tonight and meet DS for the first time.
Our PTO Fall Ball was a hit Friday night. We normally can't sell 15 pizza at an event. We sold the 15 in the first 20 minutes and ended up running out two more times for a total of another 40 pizzas. We sold every slice. We also sold 6 cases of water, 6 boxes of capri sun which went in the first 40 minutes and 200 cookies. There was a line all the way down the hallway at one point with people wanting to buy tickets. It was pretty amazing but a long ass 14 hour day. Our principle freaked on us about 9:15 Friday morning about the event and us needing to clean up because of the 3 day weekend and ants. The night janitor finally told us enough and that we cleaned the cafeteria and gym deeper than they do. The teachers/staff that came seemed to have a great time and they were planning to express our awesomeness to the principle. Plan was just to cover our cost and we made $600.
I basically recoup the rest of the weekend and was super lazy. DD seems to be trying not to catch a cold so a lazy weekend was good.
Well you saw my weekend. Work was a $%#& show and then DS proceeded to concuss himself. I can't remember if I described it. He was playing hide and seek with the neighbors. He opened the closet door under the stairs (which is a low closet because under stairs), and he forgot to duck and just ran right into the doorframe/ wall. He threw up immediately, told DH who said clean it up. DH never told me which kind of burns me, but whatever. Probably because he knows I would say he has to go to the hospital and then cancel our date night. So I know nothing. Then we go to a movie (we have a babysitter), and she texts us he threw up, so we go home and she is wonderful and had it all cleaned up. But it was everywhere because he has no warning at all. DH takes him to ER and he only has that one symptom but basically they say we diagnose on symptoms and you only have one, but we are going to treat it as a concussion. So they wrote him a note for gym class etc.
Yesterday, I was coming down with something and feeling crappy, and work stuff on my mind. Boss and I talked for an hour this morning and got an action plan on some of the problems. So I am feeling a bit better.
We ended up going to visit my parents for the weekend since the girls and I had today off. Came home first thing this morning since there was a threat of snow/wintry mix and I didn't want to drive in it. Got home, picked up our grocery order and I put homemade meat sauce in the Crock-Pot. Then we put up all our Christmas decorations. Now we are watching Home Alone. I dont have the girls for Thanksgiving this year and with limited weekends with them, this seemed like as good a time as any to do decorations. It makes the house so cozy.

My sister in law passed away Friday so dh flew across the country Friday and I followed with the boys Saturday. We all took red eyes which went better than expected. The funeral was today and was lovely....beyond personal and touching. Everyone is so broken hearted. She was my husbands brothers wife and they have 2 young kids. She was amazing and we had a great bond being the two married ins. I miss her so much and it doesn’t feel right that she isn’t here. I keep expecting her to come down the stairs or around the corner. It doesn’t feel possible. She had cancer and it sucked but we all really believed she was going to beat the odds because she was that awesome and tough and positive.
We fly home tomorrow night and back to work Wednesday. I’m super behind at work but am ignoring it because priorities. This week will be nuts but whatever.
campermom - thank you for all of your sacrifices, and thank you to your DH for his service. Try to take care of yourself - just a little bit, every day.
