we have Keurigs available, so I have a box of K cups in my office. over the summer we moved to a new office building, so the perk of that is free parking (vs paying for a monthly ramp)
but we do have great benefits including paid parental leave and inexpensive health care (i.e. monthly premiums are ~$200 for my family of 5 with a $500-$1000 annual deductible)
I worked for a huge publicly-traded asset manager/bank. We had very few perks.
There was terrible office coffee. No keurig until someone bought one for our floor and brought it in. No snacks. We were cautioned against using the plastic utensils in the kitchen, as they were for “clients” 🙄. No gym or onsite fun of any kind. We did have a cafeteria with decent food. It was unsubsidized.
With my last promotion, I received a parking pass, which showed up on my paystub monthly as a $400 perk. The year after i received my pass, they discontinued the program. I was grandfathered in. They also stopped the pretax commuter train pass program.
They issued iPhones to AVP and above, but they were locked down, so no personal email or social media apps. Which meant you needed 2 phones 🙄. I had to fight to get iPads for myself and a few members of my team - we were technology-heavy and needed to be able to test on different devices. Again, totally locked down.
So basically, no perks. I don’t miss it.
ETA: I thought of a great perk!! We got 10 days per kid Per year at a back-up daycare center - totally free to us. For school-aged kids, they offered camps during February and April vacations for $10/day. My kids loved both from about age 3 on. It was amazing on the few days that our nanny called in sick.
I co-own my accounting business with my dad. Umm...we buy soda during tax season and a large bag of chocolate to cover the season. I bring my dog in about once a week and DD has always hung at the office off and on. I think my biggest perk is when a client brings us in donuts or cookies and that isn't even a perk but a really nice "tip/thank you".
State university, we have an office keurig on the honor system and an honor fridge of pop and sparkling water. That's it. Also no discount on tuition for my kids. This year for the holiday party, we aren't drinking in the conference room....we are going across the street to the union.....
I am super jealous of all of the perks people are naming. On the plus side, our health insurance is really reasonable. It's an HMO at the university which is $250 per month for the family.
We have coffee/tea, pads/tampons, and super fully stocked first aid kits (everything from Advil, to allergy meds and every other med you could possibly need, to tweezers, to disposable thermometers, to hot/cold packs, band aids of every shape and size, liquid bandage, etc.). We also get to leave early the day before a holiday, which is actually really nice.
That’s it. But, it seems they finally got some millennials into HR so the corporate office does have some other stuff that I get emails about (ping pong tables and tournaments, snacks and drinks, and they do things like chili cook offs and such over there. I’m in a weird position because I work for one company, but my office and lab is in the building of another company and only one other person in the entire building works for the same company as me. So, basically, it’s complicated.
