Breaking: On Friday evening, the State Department released nearly 100 pages of records in response to ethics watchdog group American Oversight's lawsuit seeking a range of documents related to the Trump administration's dealings with Ukraine. t.co/zdvWTYaDsx
Let's get back to discussing critical national-security issues confronting America. The threats are grave and growing. The presidency and control of the House and the Senate will all be decided in less than one year. It's time to speak up again! #JohnBolton
Many are speculating about what I plan to do next. I’m excited to tell you what I’ve been working on. Here is a preview: t.co/2vIpB4ys7n
Jesus Christ. Spencer had responded to Trump, telling the White House that a tweet is not an official order and if the president is ordering the Navy to end the Trident Review Board of Gallagher, he needs to do so in writing.
They explained that the Trident Review Board is a peer review process and it’s best to let the process play out, the three officials said. The president did not know details of the process, the officials said, including how fellow sailors, usually Navy master chiefs, are the ones who make the recommendation.
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was hospitalized after experiencing chills and fever, the court said Saturday.
In a statement, the court’s public information office said Ginsburg was admitted Friday night to Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. She was initially evaluated at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington before being transferred to Johns Hopkins for further evaluation and treatment of any possible infection.
With intravenous antibiotics and fluids, her symptoms abated and she expected to be released from the hospital as early as Sunday.

I am definitely worried about RBG. McConnell has no shame and would absolutely try to place another judge if a seat opens up before the next election.
Nope. Last year of a presidency. American people get to decide!
Honestly, this time it would probably work in the GOP’s favor to hold off. SCOTUS seats are the carrot on a stick that keeps evangelical voters turning out and they have been salivating over RBG’s seat for a long time. A seat hanging in the balance at election time would be a huge boon to the GOP. (Of course if they lose the Senate or the Presidency, I could see McConnell pushing through a last-minute appointment before inauguration.)
I sincerely hope none of this comes to pass, through. RBG needs to hang in there.

He already concocted and publicly mentioned his bullshit excuse about how he would work to confirm another justice because this time, the majority party in the Senate and the POTUS’ party are one and the same.
The Navy has been notified that the White House will not intervene to stop a disciplinary proceeding that could cost a SEAL his position in the elite unit, a senior Navy official said.
AP reports: Defense Secretary Mark Esper has fired the secretary of the Navy in connection with the controversy over a SEAL whose case has been championed by President Donald Trump.
The House Intelligence Committee is in possession of audio and video recordings and photographs provided to the committee by indicted Giuliani associate Lev Parnas, multiple sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News.

So it seems we may actually be getting somewhere with all of this. It’ll be interesting to see how Trump and Fox News spins this, once the content is released.

They won’t care. I still lurk on one of the boards with doctors and there’s a huge trump thread. There are some sane voices, but the trump supporters are absolutely insane. It does not matter to them. If he murdered someone but while committing the murder he said "I’m not migreront anyone" they’d say, see he didn’t do anything and what about the Bidens.
Per Jake Tapper’s tweet...Spencer’s “acceptance of termination” letter says he cannot in good conscience obey an order he feels violates his sacred oath.
There are now 3 versions of Spencer firing: TRUMP: Navy treated Gallagher badly + cost overruns ESPER: Spencer sidestepped DOD, made secret proposal to WH to allow Gallagher to retire w/ Trident pin SPENCER: Resigned because he couldn't obey Trump order on Gallagher
I'm more than a little cynical about the WH version, but it could just be because I'm distrustful of this entire fricking administration and exhausted by them. And as a Navy family, this abrupt termination kicked at me. It's very pat and timely, and the rank and file won't have a reason to be outraged, especially if SEAL Command is still on board with Gallagher getting a hearing before a tribunal of his peers. Which keeps them in line and voting for him in 2020. Because it was *Spencer's* fault, not Trump or the administration. *Spencer* was disloyal, toadying to Trump and trying to make a deal with him.
Spencer's resignation letter is pro forma, though. "He deserves someone that agrees with his policies and procedures and I'm not that guy."
The material submitted to the committee includes audio, video and photos that include Giuliani and Trump. It was unclear what the content depicts and the committees only began accessing the material last week.

Yes but what will be the spin if he’s caught redhanded? Will they say it’s actually not him? Will they say the audio is doctored? The justification for things that have taken place seem beyond comprehension, so I’m curious how this will play out.
Everyone is a villain: Trump for pardoning Gallagher Spencer for trying to fix the review board outcome Esper for deciding to let Gallagher keep his rank

Edit: It could be the vodka...but I’m so confused as to what happened. I thought Spencer was following protocol and didn’t want to cave to Trump.
Publicly. Privately he (supposedly) went to Trump, behind Esper's back, to arrange for the tribunal to allow him to retain his Trident and retire. That's if we believe the White House account of what happened, rather than think that this is a mighty convenient way to make Spencer look like he's undercutting the process and being dishonest in a mighty convenient way to keep the troops in line and placated rather than pissed off at the WH undercutting protocol and process. Or Trump just saying shit, or the Republicans coming up with a plan. (See also: smear campaign of M. Yovanovich.)
