How old are your kids? How much screen time are they allowed to have?
My five-year-old loves it, and it is definitely worth the $80/year we are paying. My teenage niece and nephew are visiting and they also love it, so we will be giving them a yearly subscription for Christmas. I think it’s awesome and at a very reasonable price point, especially if your kids watch a lot of movies.
We’re doing the 7 day free trial tight now and we love it. I had no intention of keeping it past the 7 days (I just wanted to get through the holiday break) but we’ve watched at least 1 sometimes 2 movies each night we’ve had it. I really was not expecting us to use/love it as much as we do!

We love it. We’ve been watching something every day. My kids especially enjoy the old Mickey cartoons. In the search feature they have it set up by decade and they are loving the old ones from the 20s/30s/40s/50s. We’ve also been watching Christmas movies all break. Just finished the Santa clause 3, watched one each day.

We absolutely love it. My kids are 8 and 1.5. My 8 year old is OBSESSED with Hannah Montana. We love the preschool shows. DH and I have been watching old movies and the Mandolorian and The Simpsons.
We don’t have cable though. Not sure if our opinion would change.

We’ve got it and I just finished watching The Mandalorian episode 4 and have moved on to the Imagineers documentary.
I LOVE this, but I love a lot of Disney/Fox stuff, so this is basically what I imagine TV in heaven would be. My 6YO is all over it, my H loves it, I think I caught my 6 month old and the cats trying to figure out how to work the remote to get to Disney+. Two thumbs up from me.
We just got it a couple days ago and we're in love. E1 is digging the Christmas movies and Mickey stuff. H and I are happy to introduce him to some movies out of the vault (I've already added the Rescuers Down Under and Aristocats and Great Mouse Detective to the list, yay). H has been watching and liking The Mandalorian and I'm starting a Marvel marathon.
I'm a huge Disney fan and have been wanting this since it was announced.
We're sharing with my BIL (who got a bundle with Hulu), but he shares our Netflix so we feel like it evens out.
We got a year subscription for free because DH has an unlimited Verizon plan. So it is definitely worth at least checking to see if you can get it for free!
The kids say "EVERYONE" has Disney+ and we need it. What do you think?
Do they have enough new/continuing content to make it worthwhile?
ETA: They are all about to have bdays and will turn 11, 9, 7 and 5.
We got the trial and we’re using it now, mostly because DD1 is obsessed with Frozen. However, I guess I’ll be the lone dissenter in that I don’t think we will keep it long term. So far I haven’t seen anything new that I’m interested in. We watched the first ep of the Mandalorian and didn’t like it. I am a huge Pixar and Marvel fan and I am dying to see the new Marvel content, but isn’t coming out for a long time. I thought we’d show DD1 a lot of the older Disney movies, but I’ve realized a lot of them haven’t aged well and I’m not sure I want her to see them (she’s only 4.5).
we’re keeping it for now, but we’re mostly just rewatching stuff we’ve seen before. DD1 will be getting Frozen on DVD for Xmas so that will reduce our daily use of Disney+. I think we will keep it a month and then cancel. We might sign up again when the new Marvel stuff comes out.

I haven’t watched the older movies yet, but I read an article that indicated that some of the racist parts were removed from some of the older movies (crows from Dumbo, Siamese cat song from Lady and the Tramp). It seems like it would be hard to remove all of it, but apparently they made an effort.
ETA: can’t find the original article, but did find many that say they have just added a disclaimer about “outdated stereotypes.”
We signed up for the free trial last night. I don't think we'll keep it.
DS is 6.5. He's not really into Disney movies, and has had zero interest in viewing what he's toggled through on the search screen. We canceled cable and subscribe to YouTube TV and Netflix. I recently cancelled Hulu after having it for 99 cents / month from last year's Black Friday sale. We rarely watched that, either. There was one show we binged.
It's so tempting to subscribe, but I'm just not sure it's worth the cost.

My kids are obsessed with it. DD2 was super sick right after it came out and she basically watched the entire Tangled tv series. She is super into old school Mickey and friends so she’s watched The 3 Caballos movies and all the older Mickey movies. Duck Tales and Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers were already favorites in our house and now they are obsessed with Darkwing Duck too.
To be fair we are HUGE Disney fans and go to Disney for 8-12 days every year. So I would have been super surprised if they hated it 😂
My boys (9 and 12) have been re-watching Phineus and Ferb, and I introduced them to the Simpsons and the 90s X-Men cartoon series yesterday. At least the latter caught their attention--H and I will likely be the ones enjoying the former.
Given the low introductory pricing I see us keeping the subscription for at least the first year. After that it's going to depend on how much we're watching it plus how much they hike the cost.

Dh and I are binge watching Gargoyles and marvel movies. The boys aren't particularly into any of the movies on it (or movies at all) but they are weird children, haha. I'm not sure how long we'll keep it for but a few months to a year I imagine.
We got it this weekend and think it’s awesome! It does feel like we’ll eventually watch everything we want to watch but that will take a long time and I’m sure they’ll add more movies by then. There’s also lots of tv shows for kids. DH rented a marvel movie for $3.99 a couple days before and of course that movie was there, so for the price of not having to rent movies or buy movies you might really want to see that aren’t available elsewhere, I think it’s worth it.
One warning, the Samsung TV we bought in 2016 was not compatible. We have an old fire stick but I haven’t been able to find the usb portion of it. We tried to do screen mirroring with my old phone on wifi and couldn’t get it to work. While we were watching something else I saw an ad pop up in the Amazon Prime menu and we were able to download the Disney + app through prime and access it that way. It was a frustrating process but I’m glad we got it to work.
We just got it last night ($10 back on Ebates for the win). All 3 of my kids (13,10, and 8) are over the moon excited about it and have started watching already.
I did the year subscription because $69.99 + $10 back on ebates made it ridiculously cheap). I don’t know if we will keep it after that. We shall see.
We had to wait until I could get our TV to be able to do it. Fire stick on Black Friday special and an HDMI splitter did the trick since our TV is too old to be smart and our video consoles are also too old.
My 13 year old has been begging for me to figure it out so we could get it for the past couple weeks. She’s probably the most excited.
DH couldn't wait for a deal (eyeroll) because he HAD to watch the Mandalorian as soon as D+ was available, so we've had it for a couple weeks now. We do enjoy it, and there are a lot of shows and movies to watch. My kids (8 and 10) enjoy it. I assume that within the next year or so, it will be the only way to watch any Disney shows/movies on a streaming service.
Our kids are 2.5 and 4 and we got it. It's fine but I don't think there is really that much content. I assume they will have more original content eventually? DD1 loves Sofia the First and I was surprised that isn't on there at all.
It's on sale for $59.99/year today. Combined with the $10 cash back on Rakuten, I think I'm going to bite the bullet and subscribe.
I saw the same thing this morning, and was hoping for a Black Friday / Cyber Monday deal. Combined with the Rakuten cash back, $49.99 it seems completely worth it.
Someone explain this to me....how do I buy Disney+ for my Amazon Firestick using this deal??? Or can I not do it for the Fire stick? coffeebean starburst
For $60, I feel like it would totally be worth it.

I bought it online, going through Rakuten (so I got the additional $10 cash back). You register your email and create a password online. Then, you can download the Disney+ app on the firestick, and log in.

Sofia is on Netflix right now so I'm thinking they may be waiting out that contract? I was surprised too!

They're letting certain contracts end before moving some content over. I can't get all of the Marvel movies because some are still contracted elsewhere. Even if you can find the title, there will be a message saying "due to prior agreements, [this title] won't be available until [insert date here]." Or somesuch. For instance, Avengers: Endgame won't be on Disney+ until June 2020.

. DH is watching Endgame on D+ right now. We just got it today.

It’s the first part, Infinity War, that is missing. I was bummed because I want to watch both again in order and June 2020 is a long time to wait!
