I got high 30s/low 40s (I can't remember the exact total). I didn't know the soccer players or the YouTubers. I got Steyer right, mostly b/c of all the ads he's running in my state right now. The part I liked the best was the table w/ the 100+ ways people were spelling Buttigieg (sp?), lol.
I'm actually surprised that some of y'all don't know who PewDiePie is.
Besides the controversies and him showing up in the news, he earns about $1 million a month on YouTube. He's one of the biggest, if not the single biggest, YouTube star/earner.
I read some news but get most of my news through podcasts or NPR. I had heard stories about him but didn’t know what he looked like. I’m completely OK with that.

40/52. My biggest weakness was definitely pop culture, particularly the YouTube stars (I got none of them). I had never even heard of several of them, they were unfamiliar even after the names were revealed. I did surprisingly well with the athletes, considering I don't follow sports much. Pretty solid on politicians, both foreign and domestic. Maybe I need to get out more.
I didn’t do very well. I think I got almost everyone connected to politics, but I missed every athlete and all but a couple entertainers. I recognized some pictures and knew some names once I saw them. The closest I got on any athlete was guessing the wrong Williams sister.

40, which I'm pleasantly surprised about. I don't watch TV news or view a lot of stories with photos. All of the old white guys look the same, but I guessed right on Steyer and Bennett. I got most of the athletes wrong.
Very curious about the comparison of avg US to NYT readers. I'm to believe that fewer NYT readers can ID Obama and Trump than avg Americans? Unless readers are putting "lord most high" and "Satan himself", respectively, which might really explain it.
ETA: Oh, if I'd bothered to scroll, I'd see that my theory was right. Oops.
