I found a group that is using projectors for sewing (projecting the pattern directly onto fabric), and it's blowing my mind. My least favorite thing to do with e-patterns is printing them and taping them together.
Pixy, Do you have a link or example video? My mom LOVES to sew and has just gotten into sewing + technology (just bought an embroidery machine that costs 4x what my first car did.) This might be a cool gift for her.
Does anyone how how often DSW runs those “free travel bag with $50(?) purchase” promos? I need some new shoes but not immediately, so I’d like to wait until DSW does another free with purchase promo.
I got something in the mail that said one starts either this week or next (I think I remember it saying the 16th).
Thanks - I just went to the site and the latest giveaway is an organizer set. Which I don’t want. The shoes I’m eyeing are $40 so I’d have to find something random for $10 to get it anyway. I don’t need the shoes until May so I guess I’ll wait to see if they have a better giveaway in the future.

I need new straight jeans. Every store that I used to buy jeans from has switched up their offerings, and I can't figure this new stuff out.
What is a "slim straight" fit? What are "Power" jeans (Old Navy)? Why do all of ON's jeans look short on the models?
I found original straight jeans on ON's site, but they are on clearance and sold out in my size.
When did The Gap switch to this new sizing system (sizes from 24 to 35)? Are these numbers supposed to be inseam measurements? Waist measurements?
Can't I buy regular straight jeans anymore?
I just had this exact experience this past weekend. I just want a pit of actual jeans, not jeggings or crops or destroyed. I have all those already, I just want a pair to put in that I don’t have to wear riding boots with, and I also don’t always want them to be skin-tight.
We're going to Florence with my family in July. I'm excited but since we're used to traveling in shoulder season, the price of flights was painful. I have been obsessively checking flights from 4 airports in the US to a variety of European destinations.
Today it paid off when I woke up to a Google alert for tickets from our local airport to Zurich for less than $600 each. I applied for and used the airline card (fee waived the first year) so I will get a $200 credit off the tickets and a free checked bag. Not bad if I do say so myself!

Vespasia, I love Florence! Well done on the flight cost.
I'm feeling impatient. I'm waiting to hear news about moving forward with our house purchase. Supposedly there was going to be movement in everything by today. Tell me NOW!!!!
I wasn't feeling great yesterday but struggled through my 7 hour meeting day. Was home at 4:30, refused to leave my room after that, ignored all of my responsibilities, turned my light off at 8pm and slept until my alarm went off for exercise at 4.55 this morning. I feel like a new person. I guess I was tired!

I got two McDonald's hash browns for breakfast on my way to work, and they were delicious. I usually do hardboiled eggs, or an egg casserole I've been making in my instant pot, and some fruit, but I didn't have time to pack this morning.
I still can’t find that backpack that I mentioned upthread. Which makes me believe even more strongly that MH moved it and didn’t bother to remember what he did with it.
I was talking to him about it the other day and he said, “Could we have donated it?” No, sweetheart, WE didn’t donate shit. It’s entirely possible that YOU could’ve donated it because YOU don’t keep track of what you do with things.
I hate losing things because they obviously have to be *somewhere.* Because that’s how matter works and all.
I took today off just because. I had a list of things I wanted to do in my craft room, but so far all I've done is watch a man and his dog camp in the snow on youtube.

Reporting back that there is what appears to be good news and we may be able to exchange contracts for the house next week on the 24th. That would make the house ours!
Is it weird that we sleep with my bedroom door open? DH keeps arguing to close it, but I can't figure out why.
We keeps ours closed because otherwise there would be a cat shoving her ass in our faces all night. Otherwise we’d leave it open (and sometimes we still do when the cats are desperate for the company).

I have to have our door closed. I used to sleep walk when I was really stressed, but wouldn’t open doors or do stairs, thankfully. It started there, and now if I half wake up with the door open it really scares me.

Yes, it's weird. Have you seen the fire safety pictures? Bedrooms with doors closed means you'll have a chance of survival during a house fire. Everyone should be sleeping with their doors closed.

I'm also watching another video of a guy camping in winter with his dogs. LOL! My dogs are also thoroughly engrossed because they're watching the dogs on screen.

That’s awesome! Flight prices seem so unpredictable sometimes.
Last spring my SO and I were trying to figure out what to do for a trip in June. He mentioned going to see his family in London & then adding another city. I was adamant that the prices were too expensive and if we’re going to spend that much we might as well go to Ghana. Well I pulled up the website one day to "prove my point" since I had been tracking flights and the prices went down to $590 for round trip to London. So I immediately booked because I hadn’t seen his family in 2 years. I rechecked prices the next day and it was even cheaper to do an open jaw flight where we flew in to London and out of Budapest so since it was within 24 hours I rebooked that route and it worked out perfectly. Crazy,

Speaking of taking up old hobbies, our local rec council started an adult ballet class yesterday, and I went. It was a legit ballet class, and so much fun! I just wish it wasn't Sundays at 4pm, such a crappy time.
Oh that sounds so fun! I’d love to do something like that but the classes I’ve tried as an adult have been super basic and boring. I need a legit class!
Boston Ballet has a lot of legit adult classes! Some of the people there are like SERIOUS former dancers, but when I’ve observed, it seemed to be a mix.

They do! It’s probably my best bet but figuring out a class schedule that works with my commute is a PITA and I cant do anything on the weekends. (I live an hour+ from Boston!)

I’m back in my hometown for the weekend and reached out to a HS friend to catch up. I haven’t seen her in years, and wasn’t sure I wanted to actually try to set something up, but I reached out anyway. I got a message that she would be 15 minutes late for coffee, and now it’s over 30 minutes. *sigh*
