jeaniebueller, I'm trying to cut back on soda, too. It's so haaaaaaaaaaaard. But I do find that I'm less shitty-food-oriented if I don't have soda, especially early in the day. I hate when the sucky stuff I'm supposed to do is actually good and now I have to keep doing the stuff that sucks, lol.
well, I'm only in week 2 of WW but I'm down 12 lbs. Pretty sure at least 7 of those were water weight that came off right away. So far it's been easy to stick to AND I've been able to go out for beers with DH. I'm meal planning and cooking more, so that helps too.

Back in the game. Started the new year at 139 - highest ever non-pregnant weight. In October I did Dexa-fit to see what my body fat and accurate measurements were. It was... eye opening. But over the holidays I just couldn’t get it together.
H and I both need to get healthy, so we started eating healthy and exercising daily on January 1. And we cut out alcohol except for special occasions. I haven’t had any booze in two weeks, I’ve eaten mostly whole food plant based and I’ve exercised every day. I feel awesome. I’ve lost 6.4 pounds (down to 132.6) and H has lost 9.
The reduction in points as you lose weight makes perfect sense, though. The less mass you carry, the fewer calories you need to fuel your body, generally. (Like buying gas for an Expedition versus a Miata! lol) Of course for super active people, FitPoints can bridge that gap.
An aside, but has anyone watched "Brittany Runs a Marathon" on Prime? It's an Amazon original movie. I liked it a lot, and it has great messages about how you can want to change your body without hating yourself (which is the nuance lost in a lot of the anti-diet culture influencers) and how you can be health and fitness conscious without being an asshole about it. It's a good weekend watch!
Yes! It was so good. I’m sad it’s not talked about more because I thought it was just a really great overall movie.
OMG! I just watched it! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Could have written some of the scenes. I didn't know it was based on a true story.

(Not claiming dominion over these threads AT ALL, but since I've become the self-appointed thread-starter in the last few weeks)...
Would anyone be opposed to making these threads monthly instead of weekly? I think some of the info shared (particularly about the WW plans) is good to reference for newbies, and a monthly thread will keep that good info in one place for longer (less rehashing and searching). I still plan to check in weekly for my own accountability, but I'll just add to the monthly thread.
