Yes--my kid has had it for about a year. Maybe a little longer. We tried this lemon balm stuff that Leeham Rimes recommended. It didn't work even when used 3 times a day for like 3 months.
my son's was bad around october/november and we were in florida over new years and it just disappeared! I wonder if it was all the chlorine swimming? It didnt look like it was about to go away so we were pretty shocked. the doctor had warned us that it could take about a year and i was frustrated but nothing we tried worked (mostly bandaids and hydrocortisone and neosporin)
After about 12-14 months, I treated it with a mix of 50% olive oil, 50% tea tree oil dabbed onto the spots with a qtip twice a day. It was gone in about a month.
I'm definitely not a "woo woo"/"let's heal everything with essential oils" type, but someone on her recommended it and the only help the pedi offered didn't work (the beetle juice treatment).
Two of my kids have had it and it took a good year for one of them to get rid of it. Both are swimmers and it's very easily caught in water.
Tea tree oil is eventually what got rid of it. It smells HORRIBLE but it worked. I did straight tea tree oil, no mix. I'm also not an essential oil person but this one works.
