greenmonkey1, amusingly until trains and kid toys that he played with started showing up, I would have told you DH is typically NOT sentimental at all. He doesn't like anything "old."
... apparently with the exception of old train sets and erector sets that I think came from the 70's, when DH's older brother and sister were born.
I am anxiously counting down the days until BIL and SIL announce a pregnancy so we can box all this crap up and give it to BIL, since I actually think he'd appreciate it more.
My parents are also the savers/passers on of all the things. No, Dad, I do not want the participation trophy from my 2nd grade softball team. You can throw that away now.
My FWP is that I continue to be amazed at the number of people who reach out to me for help with their businesses, and expect me to do it for free. I'm not talking about friends - my friends all pay. I'm talking about total strangers that put it out there that they are looking for a service, and I respond that I can provide that service, and then they ask me to help them "out of the goodness of [my] heart".
No, sir. Are you, Mr. Roofer, offering to replace my roof out of the goodness of your heart? No? Then why should I build you a website, maintain your social media presence, improve your search results, and write you a freaking marketing plan out of the goodness of mine?
3 conversations in 2 weeks, and all of them have asked me to help them for free. Ugh. I need to get better about figuring out which prospects are legitimate earlier in my process.
mae0111, Small businesses are the WORST customers for marketing. "Oh, you're just going to post on Facebook for me? My teenage daughter's BFF could do that!" That's exactly why I gave up my side hustle doing consulting. I feel your pain!
I’m on a flight right now and had asked for a can of coke during the drink service, which I was really looking forward to as a treat. Now there’s turbulence so no one gets drinks- boo.
