Not a show, but over the summer we printed out a list of all the Marvel movies in chronological order and watched them. It was fun! It's been a long time since I saw some of those and I found that I even missed a few.
Dr. Pimple Popper! The six year old loves it; the eight year old, not as much. When the big one is at a play date, the rest of us burrow in for cysts and lipomas.
Our eight-year-old loves Nova and Making It (and generally will watch pretty much any documentary). Big Cheer fan. We've also watched Parks & Rec and The West Wing together, maybe (definitely) more than once. He also loves The Good Place, Community, and Schitt's Creek (although he calls it "Beep Creek"), and he's inherited our fondness for British panel shows. And we watch a lot of stand-up comedy specials together, although I typically watch them first to screen for subject matter.
@ My daughters watched every season of Little House on the Prairie. I did the read the summery of each prior and we did skip a few shows for various reasons. I loved it as a child and it was fun to rewatch.
My oldest (11 YO girl) loves history and "period" tv shows/movies. She would just die to watch for example The Tudors or Outlander; CLEARLY not appropriate. So if anyone has any period shows/movies that are appropriate for an 11 YO I'd love the recs.
(sorry to piggy back OP)
In our queue we have Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Punky Brewster, Boy meets World
Sanditon on PBS is good. Downton Abbey also, though I'd be a little worried about the end of Lady Sibil's storyline with an 11yo. I still cry rewatching it.

Thank you! I'll look into it! I don't know why I haven't thought of Downton Abbey; she would love it!
I have a 9 and 12 yo. We started the Amazing Race from the beginning, they are obsessed with AFV (America’s funniest videos), Lego Masters, Mandalorian. We’ve also watched Shark Tank together
Modern Family and Big Bang Theory are two that we watch infront of the littles. Others that my son likes are Treehouse Masters, The Aquarium, and Crikey It’s they Irwin’s. They’re still 1 and 6 so I’ve had to limit the content of what we watch. Lots of animal planet.

My 11.5 year old love Big Bang Theory, which I realize is not entirely wholesome. He watches a lot of baking contest shows with my mom and watches Stranger Things with my dad.

DDs are 9 and 8. Master Chef and Master Chef Junior were big hits in our house. Cupcake Wars, Kids Baking Championship, Nailed it, any food competition shows. We're currently working our way through the Harry Potter movies but I love all of these suggestions for shows!
I thought it was a little too soap opera-y for my personal taste, but she might like Victoria on PBS. I don't remember anything kid-inappropriate.
Oh thank you for the rec! She loves all things royal, will look into this.
She and a friend have been watching When Calls the Heart; I swear she's a 75 YO trapped in an 11 YO body
I love Victoria, and it’s been a minute since I’ve watched the first season or two, but it definitely at least alludes to sex and reproduction.
Victoria is repeatedly shown sneaking out of bed after sex and jumping on the couch to prevent pregnancy.
I think she nearly dies from a couple births as well.
There’s also a lot of marital disagreements, assassination attempts, affairs, and tense father-son scenes where Albert basically ranges from saying their son is gay to incompetent to flat out mentally challenged and blames all of it on both their son and Victoria.
It’s a good show, but definitely requires maturity and follow up discussion.

Oh, and child abuse! Their son gets physically abused by a tutor. He “makes progress” academically though, so Albert is all “well, but it works...”

My boys love science and nature shows so we watch a lot of Nature and Nova on the PBS app. We also have a couple of local shows on PBS (Oregon Field Guide and Oregon Experience) which shows a lot of nature and history.
They watch their crappy YouTube videos on their own
