librarychica Yeah I wouldn’t feel the need to see her in person. I’d still probably be nice about it just because - I’d tell her that we decided to go with another childcare option and thanks for her help these past (whatever). Just because you never know when you’ll run into her again.
All of our babysitters have been our kids’ daycare/preschool/aftercare/swim/gymnastics teachers - any chance there’s someone you know that way who might want some extra work?

Update: I texted her. I am glad I didn’t do it in person because she she was upset, insisting that it was all a misunderstanding and arguing that she deserved next weeks pay as well since no notice. Fine. I gave her a week’s pay and basically said this isn’t up for discussion. I have spent the afternoon looking for last minute spring break options and touring a few aftercare options for next year. Of which there are two.
