I've been getting emails and texts the past couple days from the organization that runs the aftercare sports programs at my kids' elementary school, urging people to sign up for 9 am - noon summer sports camps. They're outdoors at a park, and the fine print says "To ensure the health and safety of our students, class sizes will be 10 children or less, sharing of materials will be limited, proper handwashing will be imposed, and equipment disinfected. If classes need to be canceled you will be contacted with alternative options, including a full refund option."
They would start June 15th. I'd prefer full-day YMCA camps, but if they're cancelled, this could work as a back-up option. But I'm worried that if I sign up and then I cancel because Y camps are open (rather than them cancelling), then I likely wouldn't get a refund. But I suppose sometime in the next several years my kids are in elementary school, I would use a credit for the after school programs.
Ugh, decisions. The camps are 20% off if I sign up by Wednesday.
Our park district just put out a statement that they are hoping to have summer camp and the pool but there will be social distancing. At the pool I imagine that would mean only 50 or so people allowed. It’s a large area. Summer camp IDK would they limit registration to MWF, T/Th? They don’t prefer half days.
