covergirl82 I feel you on regionality. My county alone has a population of 3.5 million and our state is bigger than most countries, so I do sometimes find it annoying that policy is made for the state as a whole. But it is really easy for people to travel and spread within states, so I kind of get it.
During math lessons, DD will fight us like crazy and pull the dumb card.. "Oh.. I don't know what 17-7 is... 12?" kind of BS.
She's currently doing the math fact fluency portion on mobymax (same types of questions) and just blew through 60 questions in 10 minutes, getting 95% correct in order to win two minutes of game time.
Yes. This has been my week. What is 187-29? 50 1000 67 88. Omg. We end up fighting for an hour over 3 questions.
On Tuesday, DH put an assignment for DS into SeeSaw with a note that said “DS just had an epic meltdown about writing his journal assignment today. I am throwing in the towel and finding a gigantic margarita to submerge myself in. We will try again tomorrow.” His teacher responded with a voice message that said “I love this so much, I cannot even describe how much I love this. Don’t worry about the writing. He’s doing great. You’re doing great. We are all fine.”
sdlaura, I was talking to my girlfriend about this. She lives in a rural area and it takes 30 minutes to get to town which is big enough for a Costco, multiple movie theaters, etc. She said if they open rural areas to everything everyone from town will be flooding these small rural towns to go out to eat, get their nails done, etc. so it doesn't make it any safer to open just rural areas because no one will stay put.
I would love to take my paddle board out and do a paddle but all the boat landings have been closed because when it is nice everyone is flocking to the water thinking they can social distance with all the other people. So I'm not going and am hoping to go at least a couple times over the summer when restrictions ease.

Yes. We got a note that he submitted work twice yesterday, the first time a zero and the second was 100% correct. I wrote back “yep I made him redo it because he plopped in numbers the first time and didn’t try”. His teacher hasn’t responded.

Our governor said we can boat but no more than 2 people at a time. We don’t own a boat but since we have 4 people in our family I guess we can’t boat. 😂

Our county was talking about opening up the water for surfing, paddle boarding, and kayaking first since those were all limited to one or two people max. I thought it was a good way to ease into opening things up. 🤷🏻♀️

Oh it is. Chicago routinely had yacht parties in the bay which I’m sure is what they are trying to avoid. I just thought it was funny for our situation. We could do 2 tandem kayaks I suppose.... But not sure buying kayaks is worth it.

My governor (MI) put out a new exec order today. All businesses can open if they can provide curbside pick-up or delivery of items. Landscapers can work. People can go to a second residence or property. People can golfing and go in boats with motors. But we still can't have low-risk elective surgeries, diagnostic tests or doctor appointments; haircuts; or dental/orthodontic procedures.
I'm really mad about haircuts, because our friend who cuts our hair has a home salon and only has one client at a time and could easily disinfect between clients. I'm also really mad about DD not being able to get her braces off. She was supposed to get them off April 29, and now may not get them off until ? Whitmer keeps extending the house arrest order, so who knows at this point, and all the kids who were supposed to have them off in early April will be scheduled before DD.
