This is aimed at what you are buying your moms/mother figures, etc. for Mother's Day during quarantine.
I'm hoping I can find a Mother's Day card on our grocery trip this week. I could probably find a gift card for a store there as well, but not sure what else to do. My mom lives a few hours away and we won't be seeing her until at least June due to the SIP. It will need to be something shipped (rather than something I can drop on her porch).
I guess I could do flowers, but I usually like doing something else as well. Before all this, she had gotten regular pedicures. I could see if I could buy her an online gift cert I suppose.
I keep seeing the love pop cards showing up in my ads. Most of the bouquet options are sold out but they have a lot of other interesting choices. We may do that, or just homemade cards.

There’s a farm near me that makes their own blueberry muffins as they are a blueberry farm and they have themed presents to go along with the blueberry muffins so that’s what I’m doing.
I need ham like water Like breath, like rain I need ham like mercy From Heaven's gate Sometimes ham salad or casserole or ham that’s free range, all natural I need ham

We usually don't exchange gifts, but my mom is stuck at home alone so I wanted to do something. I ordered her some ice cream pints from Jeni's. It's a local business to us that has grown big and has some amazing flavors. I thought she would enjoy the treats.

She mentioned wanting a new tumbler, so I think I’ll do one better and get her a Yeti. I’ll put a Starbucks gift card in it.
She’s been watching DS and working (teaching) from home so I can work so I need to make the gift really good. Whenever the hair salon opens I’ll pay for that appointment too.
DH built her a 2x4 garden box. We will take that over, FIL it with dirt and flowers. She told me what size and where she wanted it, I’ll do touch free pick up of bags of soil, and get what I can of her favorite flowers that way too - forget me nots, snapdragons, butterfly flowers, carnations, and either trailing lobelias or trailing petunias.
My sis got her some Mickey and Minnie garden gnomes, which she loves.
We will probably do a FaceTime chat too. But I’m sad. I’d like a hug, which won’t happen.

I got her some CBD bath bombs and the CBD lotion she likes. I’ll probably bake/make her something (I’m thinking a blood orange cake or muffins) and bring it over and chat with her from the driveway for a bit. Hopefully the weather is nice. When I went there to drop off Easter bread, it was cold and windy. She stood at the doorway and I stayed in the garage, but I was freezing!
MIL isn’t local to us, so I’ll have DS make a card and we’ll probably get her a gift card. Maybe I’ll order something online for someplace local to her.
I just ordered a card through Shutterfly and shipped it to my mom’s address.
There’s a small bookstore in her town that’s next to a pizza place, and if you order from both they’ll deliver it together. So I’m going to order her a couple of crossword books she likes and have them deliver it with a family meal from the pizza place for her and my sister (who lives with her) to share - pizza, pasta, salad, chicken, that sort of thing. I think there’s also a local bakery/cafe that’s in on the package deal so I’ll see if they can send a little cake or pastries too.
I will probably also send over some beer - if the place I have in mind isn’t delivering anymore during the pandemic, I’ll use the Drizly app.

I just ordered jewelry trays from Pottery Barn with their initials. They’re on sale for less than $15 and free shipping. We’ll also get them a hanging basket of flowers and drop them off on their porches.
I’ll have the kids make cards for them. Might mail them each a roll of toilet paper for funnies. We don’t usually do gifts - just cards. My IL’s are local, so we usually have them over for dinner, but not this year.
I bought one of these picnic table squirrel feeders for our yard and it makes me laugh so hard every time I see a squirrel up there eating lunch. I bought one for my mom and my MIL.
A local guy is selling them on FB marketplace for $30 but they seem pretty simple if you know how to build things.

Thanks for the responses. My mom is like the hardest person to buy for. She doesn’t drink, has no interest in getting Netflix or anything similar, doesn’t like tech, doesn’t care for food gifts, etc. It’s tough! Mainly she just wants to see me and my dog but that won’t be happening, sadly (we do FaceTime).
I may just do flower delivery and a card with gift card through the mail for now.
My mom is hard to buy for too. I'm sending her this jigsaw puzzle and some cute springy dish towels. Then I might have something delivered - flowers or maybe an apple pie (her favorite), I'm not sure yet.
And I ordered this card from Hallmark's site. If you sign up for their rewards membership before you order, they send you a code for $5 off $10. I bought two cards and used the code.
Now I just hope it all arrives in time for me to wrap and send. It should, based on each order's estimated arrival, but shipping has been unpredictable lately.

I love buying presents for my mom. I have several ideas--flowers from Costco (they have this cool arrangement in a box), perhaps a Chico's GC--she can shop online, maybe a Pandora charm (I'm getting bored with this gift, though, I buy her charms frequently. I also thought of an art kit--she hand-makes cards--I saw some handmade paper on Amazon a couple weeks ago (I was looking for something for me for an art project). My dad texted me to say that he has an idea too, so I'm waiting for him to be able to get away from her (quarantine makes that hard, lol) so he can call me to discuss.
Funny enough the sex toys thread was just above this one just now and it made me go hmmm. I mean, I would never, but my mom’s been single for a looooooong time and not the type to have purchased her own, so it’s honestly probably something she’d get some good use out of!

I ordered my Mom a canvas picture of our trip to Disney. It’s rare to have pics of the whole family, my brother lives on the west coast while we are on the east. And then I’ll have the kids mail her cards.
Does anyone know anything about sewing? My mom just got a new sewing machine so perhaps she could use some stuff to go with that? I don't know anything about sewing so I'm not sure what.
Barring that, I might send her some nail polish strips. A friend is selling them and is going to do something special as a mother's day gift (she hasn't figured out what yet). My mom is the one who introduced me to these and is missing getting her nails done right now, so I know she'd enjoy getting some.

wildrice If there is a specialty sewing store near your Mom I would go with a GC. My Mom is a big sewer and unless I know exactly what she wants there is no way I can guess. She buys the pieces for her machine at the specialty store and they can be really expensive. She likes their classes too for when she wants to learn a new technique. Or I'd do a GC to Joann Fabrics or whatever fabric store she has in the area. Then she can get all the fabrics and notions she wants.

Hallmark has free shipping for gold crown members right now (their free points program). You can sign up for it online I think. I had my cards in less than a week, though they’re headquartered here in KC.
I ordered her some Dave Matthews Band lIve CDs and a jigsaw puzzle, and I’m hoping they’ll be here in time.
I shipped a Harry and David birthday basket to a friend a few weeks ago. It was my backup plan before I got the email from DMB.
There is a little card company in VT that sells adorable punny cards (TinyGangDesigns on Etsy) and they're writing in the cards for you and posting it, so I sent my MIL and Mom cards from there. I am definitely getting my mom that squirrel lunch table too!
For my local friends, I also ordered a few cards from the same place and am ordering small boxes of chocolates from BonBonBon and I'll do a couple doorstep dropoff the day before.
A local place is doing little art kits (like the kind where you normally go and drink wine and take a class) so I'm thinking of maybe sending one to my mom and grandma and then we can all have a video chat and try to do them together.
We're giving MIL a gift card to her favorite local coffee shop. Before all of *this* she'd stop by there up to 3 times a week. Now they are only open on the weekends, but she's still doing curbside when she can.
I'm not sure what to do for my mom yet. I want to find something from a local shop as well - either near me or near her.
I did order some cards from the etsy store sproctopus just mentioned. They are pretty cute!
My sister's bday is in a couple weeks as well, so I snagged a card for her too.

I got my mom a new set of Bluetooth earphones for her tv. Specifically for those who are hard of hearing/seniors. She can’t hear anything and her old ones broke and she’ll never get around to replacing them so I upgraded her. She lives with my sister so it’s as much a gift for my sister as it is for my mom. My sister said mom would be so happy to have new ones. We will also send her flowers as we do every year because she loves them and they make her happy.

I am considering ordering flowers. But, the local sip & paint places are doing projects to do at home and my mom would probably like that.
MIL is so hard to shop for. She lives a really sad life, has no room for anything - flowers would probably/hopefully brighten her day. She hardly even talks to my H, it's tough. We're closer to his step-mom, she would love flowers.
My SIL ordered H beer and me some wine for H's birthday over the weekend through Instacart, which also might be another good option for my mom.
