Really? It is a discussion about K-12 schools, everyone knows it is an @ thread.
My ask was a legit request and consistent with other requests I’ve seen on this board.
I’m not understanding why this is suddenly different.
Because the @ is used to tag threads where child-related content would pop up in threads where the title wouldn't necessarily indicate that you, you fucking bitch.

Actually not. I shouldn’t have to read the fucking entire title to begin with if there’s an @@@ in front of it. Yes it’s obviously kid related AFTER I HAVE TO READ IT.
So you can kind fuck off yourself.
Your interpretation of my “complaining” is a completely inaccurate statement.

You can't be expected to read on a communication forum that is entirely text-based? That's ... special.
So teachers are going to be expected to work year round, extended hours, AND implement both distance and in-classroom learning plans? Are they going to double their salaries?
Not to mention the staffing it would require to actuall do things like disinfect classrooms and playground equipment regularly. Are teachers going to be asked to do that too?
This may have been covered in late replying. However, @@@
I work in a high school and when we first started talking of closing, first they were going to close at 12 on a Friday, disinfect all weekend, then open Monday (we never reopened but not the point).
When they were still going to open they sent and email outlining what’s being done for cleanliness.
Our frigging city employees in the DPW had to drive to NH (!!!!!!!) to buy the proper supplies.
This was before any pandemic so why did we not already have cleaning supplies? Why were we going to NH? (I’m in Ma).
I can’t even begin to imagine how they are going to keep these schools clean when we go back. It’s a logistical nightmare and supply issue.
As it is we all (parents) at year start have to bring five Clorox containers each kid. Next year will probably be like 20. Where are we all going to get it? Supply chains might be getting back up by then but to the extreme that all schools are disinfecting hourly/multiple times a day, plus the supplies we will have to bring?
I just can’t imagine how it’s even possible on that front alone, never mind all the rest.

Not what I said but ok.
I kindly asked for an @ at the front of the title. If someone else had asked I’m sure it would have been updated without the nastiness that’s being displayed.
There are so many kids with 1:1 aides and other kids who just won't understand the boundaries and there is no way teachers can teach and police all of that.
I’m a 1:1 and my student is a mute autistic young man. This will be interesting when we go back. I can’t even wrap my head around it actually.

School is literally the second word. You would've had to read to word 2.
For me, it’s about the uncertainty and long term potential damage not specific numbers. There is so much we don’t know and it’s a risk I’m not sure I’m willing to take.
Maybe we will know more in a month or two if outbreaks are under control but it seems unlikely. No one is inspiring confidence these days.
Yeah I'm fine with treating every new development as a potential emergency. We didn't do that with this virus in the first place and look where we are. I'm all for overreactions at this point until we learn more about why this is happening and who is prone to such issues.
And I read it’s not actual Kawasaki like they first thought, it’s something else but similar. And it’s happening to some kids who were asymptomatic and parents never knew they had it.
But every day something changes.
The special needs student I work with has no concept of covering mouth when coughing/sneezing. Throws up as a yet to be determined why behavioral issue, like all day. Nurse won’t send home since it’s behavioral not “illness” (until it is, how to know?). He is autistic, mute, and barely communicates. I cannot be more than like arms length from him without letting someone know I’m stepping away. The idea of navigating this with him and the others in our sheltered class is just unbelievable.
If all kinds of kids get pulled to be homeschooled, that's going to impact budgets even more. And that will undoubtedly only impact already marginalized populations.

I hate this.
May be regional and may have changed, when I started homeschooling ds around. 2007, the school provided textbooks and he attended a social skills group once every two weeks and was able to be “counted” as a student for funding purposes even though he wasn’t taught and it was just the books, no lesson plans or instruction. So I urge anyone who truly wants to homeschool to connect with their district to see if there’s something like this available.

I think about this a lot. Before all this, H often talked about kids who have left the district to do online learning at online HS's. It takes away from the numbers and funding. My kids have to log in for attendance each day for the same reason. I know some kids really benefit from the option, but this isn't that.

Also, and I am not a teacher, but I think each state has different options/requirements for homeschooling. I think my state is pretty lax, but correct me if I am wrong.

@@@
At this point I'm just assuming we will be "homeschooling" next year. Homeschooling has always been something we've considered, but I'm super not excited about homeschooling without access to a coop and social engagements with other homeschoolers. I don't think homeschooling during a pandemic will be much like homeschooling under normal circumstances. DD isn't excited about it either. She's very social.
I just cannot imagine them being able to make schools not a breeding ground for the virus. And between my rare disease status (not necessarily high risk, but probably... not enough of us that anyone will do the actual science), and wanting DD to maybe be able to see her grandparents sometime next year, I just cannot imagine sending her at this point.

AAM 20whatever is a twat who consistently complains about @ and who apparently is performing a R style "gotcha" to catch up people in a thread about fucking schools. "school" is equivalent to labeling with "@," ya dick. redheadbaker's response was entirely warranted.

This is a part of what I sent to basilosaurus privately but I think it applies to others.
You can hate me and call me whatever because I’m not part of the “in crew” who’ve met in person with those are the specific people on the board and I’m sure I’m on the secret “spreadsheet”.
My request on the thread was a legit question for myself and others. Whether you (or anyone) believe it or not so be it. Maybe someone should send me specific instructions as to the group rules related to @@@. But for me when I see @ in a thread I skip it...and to say that the word “school” should stop me (or anyone) from reading further anything could be argued for every.single.post.

Okay. So what did you think the thread would be about?

You couldn't be bothered to read the guidelines for @usage when it was pinned to the top of the board for over a year?

My request was to be consistent with “board rules”. Someone struggling shouldn’t have to read a thread title...even if it’s one, two, 10 words to determine whether the thread is child related.
I asked for a (quick) update to the thread title to include an @. I don’t understand why that’s too much to ask for. Clearly, this is about me specifically and not about the sentiment and f my request.

It’s not pinned currently on the app, so I don’t know what you’re referring to.
If I wasn’t “bothered” to read it I assume it was for personal reasons but please provide a list of rules so I can comply.
