I’m feel pretty hopeful on a Biden win. And very fearful of the time between now and January. Those trump truck parades, that look so much like ISIS trucks... scary. Even in my blue state, because I’m in a very red area. Trump flags waving on both sides of me.
What is troubling me this morning... it seems that the covid response is looking like his downfall. 200,000 dead for people to wake up and see this abomination. I’m glad they did take the blinders off, but look at the cost.
We have had the trump truck parades here in a very blue area. They are scary. The stopping on the freeway. Just straight up intimidation. And - according to Nextdoor- they don’t feel it is any different than people protesting on their feet in the streets 😳😐
Yeah I think people are going a little too far with their "what if" scenarios. I know we're living in bizarre times, but come on, Trump is not going to move to Russia on Nov 4 and Biden move in the White House like no biggie, what's up guys!
I know that Pence would take over if Trump left, but I can totally see Trump getting pissed off and then scared he’s gonna go to jail, and go to a country that will harbor him forever. Nothing left for him here, he’s been president, he can go there, still not pay taxes or face consequences and walla!
I know it won’t happen, was just wishful thinking. I am curious to see what Trump does if he loses by a landslide. I guess he’ll just go on about how the election was rigged and then golf as much as possible until January 20 🙄

I guess it just seems highly unlikely that he'll up and move in the next couple of months. Obviously possible, but on the low end of probably things that's going to happen. If he loses he's going to think that he didn't lose fairly. He's going to think he did nothing wrong. Running away is him admitting that he fucked up. And if there really is a legit threat of him going to jail, wouldn't they freeze his bank accounts? I'm sure he has money in overseas accounts as well, but I can't imagine he'd enjoy a huge change of lifestyle and being stuck in Russia forever. But I certainly would be happy if he essentially dropped off the face of this planet!
I voted by drive-through voting which may get thrown out now so I have to go request a provisional ballot and vote on Tuesday. Super fucking angry. At least I have time. A few friends who are doctors in the Texas Med Center are also going to squeeze this into their already long, full days.
This is so awful and so clearly voter suppression!!!!! I’m so angry for you!!!
If trump wins <ducks>, I want the Dems to persue revoking his security clearance by uncovering who he owes money to and when it comes due. People in massive debt should not know national secrets.
This is a concern if Biden wins too. Former Presidents receive briefings too.

Yes, yes they are. Scary, that is.

Can they do that tho? I mean when Jared flunked his clearance Trump just gave it to him anyway. It seems like the President is the final arbiter. Certainly Trump himself never actually passed a clearance investigation. He just ... got it bc he’s :shudder: president.

We've been watching Homeland, and I keep commenting on these similarities. The fucking irony.

I don’t see Trump leaving the US if he doesn’t win. I think he will become an analyst for Fox News and continue to throw tantrums on Twitter. Honestly, I also have zero faith he will ever go to jail for anything.
He won’t do anything new in regards to COVID either, IMO. I do think some governors may take a more serious approach if they know Biden is in and Trump is out.

Not Fox News. He will start Trump TV. That was the plan in 2016 when he expected to lose.

I was told by some "people in the know" - who work for the County and for HCDP to hang tight on the provisional ballot until after tomorrow's hearing. It makes me very angry (and nervous not to do the provisional ballot). I voted drive thru in July and no one cared. But now they do - it also appears that there are other counties in Texas that have drive through and no one cared. The plaintiffs in that case are giant assholes (who have NO STANDING to briing the case in the first place). Apparently we pulled a problematic judge in the federal court, so holding my breathe for now.
He’ll fire Fauci on Wednesday if he loses. He’ll be dangerous until 1/20/21, but better than being dangerous until 1/20/25.
Wouldn't that allow Fauci to talk more openly to the American people, though? I don't think he wants that either.
And I feel like Biden would hire him back on 1/20 anyway. That is, if he wants to job again. He’s almost 80. But, I get the sense he wouldn’t want to leave at a time like this.

This is amazing. Thank you.
Also it is MESSED UP that the Republicans are challenging those votes. Especially because the curbside voting was blessed by the Republican secretary of state. (Plus, if you read their legal argument, it is ridiculous, but that doesn't matter if you get a partisan GOP judge who is happy to take a ridiculous legal position, which they have.)
And this is what has me nervous. It is less that I think the polls are wrong (although I am worried that the polls are close in some states, within the margin of error or what not, and everything seems to fall Trump's way his whole life so even though the odds are low I am scared somehow everything will go just his way and let him win). It is more that I think Biden may win and the GOP, aided by the federal bench that they have packed with Federalist, in some cases unqualified and/or politically extreme judges, will get ballots thrown out on the flimsiest of legal theories -- enough to tip the election the other way. Add to that the voter-hostile laws and practices which may cause people not to be able to vote, the fuckery with the USPS not delivering ballots to voters and returning them in a timely way, and the Trump Army intimidating voters, and I think they could also pick off enough votes in narrow states (i.e. Florida) to let Trump take them, notwithstanding the polls. They are straight-up cheating and playing dirty and they are not even hiding it at this point, and that's what makes me scared.
I did texting last Sunday. I had about 10 conversations out of 300 initial texts. Lots of people who said I had the wrong number. A few said they were definitely supporting Biden or had already voted. A couple who said they supported Trump.
I thought about doing another shift, but people seem so annoyed by all the texts and phone calls they're getting. I'm sick of being asked for money 3x a day. I don't know if all of the texting is helping, but I also know that Dems need to mobilize. Maybe it's just all of the texts in the last few weeks that are bugging people.
I've noticed a few "good" Trump adds today. Meaning, I think they are fairly well produced and have a positive message. The images are of working people, not Trump. I'm worried this is the thing that will push blue collar Michigan voters to vote for Trump instead of maybe staying home.

Curbside is different from drive thru. Curbside is an ADA issue- that if you cannot physically go into the polling place, they will come out to you so you can vote. Drive thru was/is open to anyone - and it was set up in 10-11 different polling places, so you drove into a stall and voted in your car. They are trying to claim that drive thru is an unlawful extension of curbside.
I vote drive thru in the July primary - it was a pilot program to test things out for the general election. No one gave a shit that I voted that way three months ago, but now it's a problem? This same asshats were already smacked down once by the TX Sup. Ct. when they tried to stop it. The one named plaintiff is a giant, well, known asshole. The former Republican Speaker of the Texas House (Joe Straus) has come out against throwing out the ballots, but he's the only R I have seen and he's retired.
I'm in one of these counties - Chester County, PA. We're working really hard to get out the vote. There's no question Chester County will go blue, but we need to be REALLY blue. The race in PA is way too close and issues with mail-in ballots (that predominantly affect Democrats) have me really worried.
I'll be happy when all the emails begging for money stop.
I have spent the last two weeks slowly unsubscribing , just keeping the ones I cared about most. In the last few days I have gotten rid of more, and I don't even read the ones that are left before deleting.
I decided to avoid my news feed too, and I already feel less stressed.
Today, I feel like shouting BIDEN IS GOING TO WIN into the universe. I want to think positive. That, and buying about 12 pints of premium ice cream, is how I'm coping.
