I agree an endo and a nutritionist is who you want to see. Depending on your insurance, you may need a referral. You could ask your PCP if they can do this (message them or call and ask, let them know everything you have been through and that the gyn. did not provide recs; they may want to see you in person).
I’m sorry you are going through this. I was just talking to my sister about this. She has suffered from PCOS and large ovarian cysts her entire life and also had hormonal weight issues. I had a total hysterectomy/ oophorectomy 3 years ago that caused me to gain 50 lbs that I can’t seem to lose and I never had weight issues before (related to having my ovaries removed). She also had the same surgery and struggles, so that did not solve all her issues.
We’ve both dealt with shitty comments from Drs. and unrealistic suggestions like eat 700 calories a day for her. The worst comments I got came from my oncologist and I’ve since switched to one with better bedside manner. I’ve used the weight loss apps that rec 1200 calories for me and I don’t lose weight, I only gain. I’ve been working out hard for the past year and have gained muscle but not lost fat, so I’ve only gained weight and not lost any inches. I’m ready to go back to my PCP and say, I’ve done everything you told me to do a year ago and none of it worked, and ask for the same referrals.
