Singing all the time in the house and the car. Non sentimental, but not quite as non sentimental as they were. Very frugal, although I’ve learned the value of treating ourselves. I’ve had to do a lot of work to shake off deeply instilled fat phobia and sex shaming.
I save so much random shit because it might be useful someday, definitely something I picked up from my mom. It pays off just often enough that I can't stop.

Being super negative. Also, giving a negative opinion on things when people don’t actually ask for it. I got that from my mom and it’s a BAD habit and incredibly annoying.
For example:
“I’m going to buy a Toyota. I’m really excited!!”
“Oh I don’t think that’s a good idea. Buying a car is expensive and you probably won’t get a good deal”.
Like, omg. Shut my face.
I’m actively working at NOT doing this bc it’s infuriating when she does it to me and she also refuses to recognize she does this.
I got a lot of bad habits from my parents but I guess that’s what happens when you have a dysfunctional marriage. Lol. 🤷🏻♀️
The negativity is such a bummer. I hope my kids don’t act like me. STOP THE INSANITY!!

I finally thought of one from my parents that I actually do (but haven't had to the chance to do in a LONG time)....stopping at the dollar store or grocery store to buy candy and drinks and hiding them in my purse before going to see a movie at the theater, because the candy and drinks there are way overpriced. We'd still buy popcorn there, because few things in life are better than movie theater popcorn. I do this even though I used to WORK at a movie theater in high school!

But then I spent some time with his family and realized that's what they do and that's just what he grew up doing.
I'm the opposite - I grew up with my mom putting dishes in the sink and it drives me nuts. It makes the sink unusable. Yes, sometimes something needs to soak or the dishwasher is running, but otherwise it needs to be rinsed and put it.
Not sure if habits is the right word. And perhaps it is something that would seem odd to others.
When I drop a friend off at their house, especially at night, I wait to make sure they get in the house before leaving. Definitely something my mom used to do.
What are yours?
isn't this just common sense? Do people actually not do t his?

I don't think so. I mean, I am sure a lot of people do, but I don't think everyone does.
