I got lost in GCS looking for where to buy a ticket! I didn't realize it was downstairs near where you get on the trains. Anyway, the info booth in GCS had the nicest lady ever who helped me with my basic question and then some. So don't be afraid to hit up the info booth if you're confused or intimidated 🙂
I agree that the cronuts are worth it. The other stuff I got there was also fab. You can preorder cronuts, which I suggest: nyc.cronutpreorder.com/
I Googled cronut and the deli that had been suggested. I literally gasped out loud at the deliciousness. Regular donuts are too heavy for me, so a cronut would be a perfect "fit".

These are also quite heavy with the filling and the topping, but worth it! You can follow their IG for the flavor of the month.

They are quite rich but so, so worth it. I didn't order ahead when I went because it was early March and I knew I'd be up early due to jet lag. There was still a long line by the time I got there. It was pretty cold so they said that if we didn't want to wait inline, we could come back later and give them this little ticket they were handing out. I was the only person who did it and it worked. But I'd still order ahead if you remember.
