I've only watched Lifetime/Hallmark movies so far this year, but I enjoyed both "Next Stop, Christmas" and "An Unexpected Christmas." I watched "Dear Christmas" with Melissa Joan Hart and Jason Priestly with high hopes, but it was pretty terrible, other than enjoying that they both look like real people who have aged since their teen stardom days.
Don’t sleep on the Christmas shorts, people! The ones on Disney are some of our favorites- there’s a toy story one, the Olaf one, Prep and Landing, Click Clack Moo has a Christmas special on Amazon- they’re all great!
I just watched A Castle for Christmas on Netflix. I might be in the minority but this movie is a HOT MESS. Lord, the acting is awful, the sets look like sets, and their are story points they introduce and don't follow up on.
It was terrible. But Brooke Shields has aged gracefully and more women in Hollywood should follow suit.

I watched about half of it and couldn't believe how bad it was. I was expecting a lot more I think just because Brooke Shields was in it, thinking she'd only sign on to something good. I don't think I'll even bother finishing it.
Last night I watched "Same Time, Next Christmas" which had been off my radar. It was lovely, obvious what happy ending would occur, and it was set in Hawaii with GEORGEOUS scenery.
I have to also recommend 8 Bit Christmas that was mentioned in the OP. A coworker of DH's recommended it so we watched it yesterday. TOTALLY plays homage to A Christmas Story, except 80s. I bawled at the end.
I tried 8 bit Xmas, we gave it 20 minutes or so and just didn’t think it was hitting.
We’ll watch it’s a wonderful life, elf, Charlie Brown, national lampoons, scrooged, 1951 a Christmas carols, muppets Xmas carol, Xmas story, die hard, gremlins, bad Santa, the ref, the night before, the Santa Claus, miracle on 34th st, the holiday and lots of cheesy lifetime/hallmark movies The new grinch is cute too.

I would most succinctly describe it as Gilmore Girls set in Scotland.
About halfway through A Castle for Christmas my husband said "I thought this was supposed to be a Christmas movie." I wish they had done a better job with it!
Along with the Christmas shorts- I see there's a Shaun the Sheep one!!

We watched the remake of Home Alone last night and it was awful. The kid is totally unlikable and obnoxious. Thus concludes my holiday movie plans, lol.
I don't know if this was mentioned yet but Home For Christmas is one of my favorites. It's actually a series and I think a 3rd season is coming out soon. It's in Norwegian and dubbed, which I normally don't care for, but it's so good I didn't care.

It is soooo good and I highly recommend. No third season :-(

Oh man I saw one site that said it was coming out Dec 16th, but I just looked again and realized it said Dec 16, 2022 . Here's hoping for next year!

We watched this last night, and have spent the entire day coming up with potential plot lines for the evil foreign couple that randomly were the focus of the movie while checking into the Inn. Why were they there??!

I TOTALLY THOUGHT THAT WAS GOING TO TURN OUT TO BE HER EX coming to sabotage her happiness. It would have been trite, but why else would they show them checking in?
I enjoy any and all versions of A Christmas Carol, the spookier the better. I know a lot of people didn't care for the Jim Carrey version, but it's one of my favorites.
