I finally started going through some of the boxes of pictures that never made it into albums. It's been so daunting to me for the past....20 years. Many of them are duplicates because back in the day we used to always print 2-3 sets of each roll of film.
Others are duplicates, but I scrapbooked the first set so they're all cut up and I'm wondering if I'll ever want a non-cut up version of the picture. I am going to take those and scan them and trash them.
Others just never made an album so I'll do my best to identify WTF it was and put it in an album.
Others I am realizing I do not give a shit about the people in the picture. I'll probably trash those.
I also have so many negatives. I should just trash those, right?

Pictures are dumb. LOL
I trashed negatives and even my parents slides.
It's crazy to think about all the pictures I/my parents held onto. Why were we holding onto blurry photos? And why did we need duplicates of every roll of film?
I have been working hard on this as we are getting our house ready to sell.
I adore our Buy Nothing group. Especially great for kids stuff. There's a couple people with boys a little younger than mine that I know will jump on anything we've outgrown.
It's also awesome for those instacart mistakes. One time we got an entire order of vegan stuff that wasn't ours. Good to pass along instead of sticking it in our fridge to rot and then get tossed when nobody eats it.

I'm making really good progress on the two boxes of pictures I have. I'm about half way through one. Most are duplicates which is easy because I can toss so I expect the second half of the box might take more time as I need to find space in an album and figure out what they were from.
And this morning I discovered that big part of the second box is my H's pictures so I totally plan to just toss those at him and tell him to deal.
I really don't know why I didn't just deal with this 10 years ago. It would have been so much easier.

I'm still at it! I finally printed some pictures I needed to finish my kids baby books. It's hard trying to remember what milestones they hit at 10 months old. LOL It will feel really good to have this done.
This is just a plug for people to join their local Buy Nothing group and give this stuff away. I love love love mine; though I’ve gotten a few things in addition to the many I’ve given away.
My BN group includes my entire county and people are weirdly aggressive (PM you immediately upon seeing your post asking for your address). Also almost no one posts where they are located. You have to specifically ask. Items could be anywhere from a 5 minute drive to an hour drive away. I hardly ever use them.
I moved from the Seattle area 1.5 years ago. My BN group there was awesome and I still miss it.

Sounds like the need a good admin! Ours is ruthless, people get kicked out for not picking up items multiple times. You have to live in the school district and posts have to state general area. Sometimes it seems like overkill, but I appreciate having it run smoothly!
I have some catching up to do. I finally bought frames, printed photos and hung them up in our hallway which has been on my to do list for over a year.
I love my neighborhood Buy Nothing group. I know so many of my neighbors because of it! It can be very time consuming to post and arrange pickups though.
I mostly like my BN group but we have a few people who post on EVERYTHING which gets pretty old.
I do appreciate that there is a no PM without invitation rule (so the giver must initiate the PM). If you PM the giver without permission, you get banned. I also block people that can't follow the rules. I normally give away a lot at once so it's overwhelming if people aren't following the rules.
As far as decluttering, I'm down to mostly stuff that I put off dealing with in the past, like old pillows. I think my solution is to put them in a textile recycling bin.
