Does that mean the current $4+ prices where you live were $2+ prices last year?
Can't imagine $2 something for gas.
Yes, I think we may have been a bit under $2 at one point. However, we were in the high 3’s at one point a few years ago. I did look it up and we are officially the highest we’ve ever been once it hit 3.99 (now at 4.09).

I don't know how they do it since this is not an oil producing country, but the rough equivalent is about $2/gal which is slightly higher than the avg for the country.

£7.73 per gallon (£1.70 per litre, there are 4.546 UK litres in a US gallon). If we look at converting to dollars, then it's currently £1 = $1.25, so that would be $9.66 per gallon.

And it's all Biden's fault!!!
(completely a sarcastic joke, in case we're still taking everything here seriously).
I last filled up in Oakland and it was over $6. I try to remember to fill up right here at the highway because I think it's one of the cheapest in the Bay Area.

You guys pay $3/gal extra just to live there, while simultaneously complaining, but bragging and telling everyone how amazing it is!
In college I used to joke that the students from CA, NYC, Texas and Hawaii all thought we were from the best part of the country, and only the Hawaiians were right.
Re: CA complaining - the worst things around here are fairly recent. The apocalyptic annual fire season is newer than Trump's presidency. The baseline CA and NYC complaining is pretty similar.

While I do not want to seem snobby about CA, I'm going to have to state that we are better than fucking TX. No offense.
