Just jumping in with the unhelpful comment that we are going in February but I have absolutely no idea what we are doing off the resort - so following this thread. I'd love to do some outdoorsy things but we'll have our 6 and 2 year old with us. So if anyone knows of good tours or activities that are toddler friendly, I'd love to hear about them!

Where are you staying? I haven't been in 11 years and H and I stayed at the Ritz in San Juan. We will probably only have 4 days and debating PR ( my pick) or a different trip ( the boys' pick, which is not warm and damn it, I want sun).
I've googled a bunch of hotel options and read some threads her and in a FB trip group, but haven't chosen anything.

We're staying at the St. Regis. It's supposed to be pretty remote which sounds equal parts appealing and isolating. But I think we'll rent a car so we can get out easily when we want to. It's really close to El Yunque which should be nice.
I wanted an easy and direct flight from Boston so PR fit the bill nicely!

Oh yay, glad to hear it! Did you mostly stay on property or go out and about? I've read that dining options on resort are a bit limited.

we were only there for 3 days (it was a spontaneous add on to visiting my dad in Florida lol) and we basically only stayed on property. My kids are older (they were 9 and 14 at the time) so the limited dining was fine. The Greek restaurant is quite good, and I’m sure they had kid options (my younger DS is super picky and I don’t recall him having issues) and the breakfast/lunch restaurant by the pool had decent and easy options (the flatbread pizzas were really good!). The pool was a bit chilly for me but the kids were fine. The water sport area (they have a big inflatable obstacle course/slide thing plus paddle boarding etc) was fun. The kids loved that you got golf cart rides everywhere lol.
My SIL and BIL are there now. A friend recommended Jose Enrique, Marmalade and Santealla for restaurants as well as El Batey Bar and La Factoria for drinks.
I’m so jealous!
La Factoria is really cool for drinks!
Also I loved getting several popsciles from Senor Paleta.
And the catamaran tour out to Cuelbra was absolutely amazing. Total highlight of our trip.
Oh another tip. Highly recommend a day in Old San Juan. So much fun to just wander without an agenda. Check the cruise schedule to try to find a day where there will be minimal port visitors. It helps for it all to feel less hectic.
Ok douche, go ahead and call it mud. My husband DID have halitosis. We addressed it after I talked to you girls on here and guess what? Years later, no problem. Mofongo, you're a cunt. Eat shit. ~anonnamus
Following this topic because I really want to go, though I'm supremely annoyed that there seem to be very few direct flights from the DC area. The cheapest flights connect in Boston, which is almost doubling the time it ought to take to get there.
Crap. I started looking at this as a trip option but had not gotten far enough to dig into flights yet.

I did find some direct flights that weren't the cheapest but weren't the most expensive - Southwest and Spirit mostly. Some of the departure/arrival times are still weird though.
